The Civic Type R is based of a hatchback version of the FC platform. You can order one for 3M.

I wonder if you could really get a type r for thr availble SRP if you just walked in the dealership. i see in olx with a few hundred kms being sold at 3.2-3.4m.

As far as I know, Civic Type R units are for order basis only. If you want one, you can order at your favourite Honda dealer and it will be delivered together with others on the next batch. I think there were two batches already.

That will not stop some marketing-minded folks to resell their Civic Type Rs at a premium to those people who opted not to order one prior.

It doesn’t seem like Honda PH is interested in bringing in the non-Type R hatchback. Unfortunate cause it’s a real good looking car.

the civic hatch i believe is built in the uk bringing it here will be too expensive. however the type r even though also built also in the uk is a halo/specialty car so Honda can charge a premium.

Because hatchbacks generally don't sell well here.

City vs. Jazz, Vios vs. Yaris, Mirage G4 vs. Mirage - these are essentially the same cars but the sedan versions sell much better.

Only the Mazda 3 has a pretty successful hatchback version, although as a whole it's not as much of a sales hit as the Civic or Altis.

In the case of the Fiesta, the hatchback sells better than the sedan. The Fiesta sedan looks a bit odd. Hehehe

Pansin ko matumal na yung dalawang FB group for the FC Civic.

One group has almost zero activity, the other naman puro for sale posts nalang, wala nang meaningful discussions.

Noticed that too. Ang "babaw" ng discussions sa group even before nung medyo active pa.

Sayang walang parang TeamFD sub group for the FC. TeamFD was the absolute best before. Well documented lahat ng issues and recalls and the discussions had technical depth. Everything from stores, parts and mechanics may reference. Properly working rin yung search function. Dami pang events.

I think ayaw na mag support ng HCPI ng mga ganyan kasi napaparami ang warranty expenses nila. Although masaya mga casa kasi billed lahat ng claims to HCPI.

I really miss TeamFD.

Volume knob is back sa facelifted model. Parang katulad ng sa CR-V na.
