My stock battery lasted 11 months, then the second one (Motolite) lasted 11 months again. Such a small battery so I really don't expect it to last long.

Damn, I'm expecting mine (new batt) to last at least 20-24mos but no assurance din pala kahit Motolite?! But anyway, at least I can expect the unexpected now. Thank you..

means that you do not have to do anything to that battery, and it will out-live the warranty period.

but some folks will open that battery (after or near the warranty's end, or earlier) to inspect the electrolyte level and add distilled water if need be.
they feel the practice extends the battery's useful life.

today's automotive charging syhstems are so reliable, we can go the useful life of the battery without having to re-charge it.
it seems to me this civic has a sub par charging system. our civic is on its 3rd battery. i remember when my sister talked about changing it(2or so years ago) and then my dad changed it again this year. hindi ata umabot 24months for each batteries.

    may be.
someone here mentioned that he had been replacing his battery at less-than-12 months intervals.
while the "defect" may not be palpable in places where highway driving is the norm, it certainly is, here, with our stop and snore traffic conditions.
