First, evaluate if there is really a need to replace the tires. If there is no reason to immediately replace your tires like bulges or cracks, check the treadwear bars located at the bottom of the tread grooves in several locations around the tire. When these bars become visibly flush with the adjacent ribs, then its time to replace your tire.
If there is no rush to replace them, try canvassing first for a day or two with authorized dealers of your preferred brands first (e.g. bridgestone). Also, check prices with major tire suppliers near your area (e.g. Minerva) which sells a lot of different brands. You can do this via direct call, fb messenger, viber, etc. Compare the prices before deciding which brand you prefer. I personally saved 500 per tire last year by doing this.
Another tip. Sometimes, even authorized dealers of a single brand have different prices (e.g. Bridgestone Makati may be cheaper by 15% vs Bridgestone Alabang). In addition, even major (read: expensive) brands sometimes offer huge discounts (40%) making their prices at par or even cheaper than Malaysian/Indonesian/Thai brands.
PS: Basa basa ka lang sa tire section ng tsikot, dami kang matututunan dun.
Thank you sir Dos2 for the knowledge.
Will be having a long drive this holy week.
I know all of us didnt want to get caught on a mishap/trouble/accidents.
So i have before holy week to look for a quality tire for a low price.
Have you already replace your tire?
What brand and what is your feedback?
Thanks in advance!
Yup, replaced mine last Oct 2017. Honestly was only considering cheaper brands (achilles, accelera, etc) but was surprised that Bridgestone Alabang was offering 40% discount with their Ecopia line. Got each piece at less than 3K each.
I find it a little quieter and a lot more sturdy than the stock Yokohama dB.
BTW, thanks for the info.
Tumawag ako sa honda Q.ave, tinanong ko kung may turanza sila, wala na daw at sabi nila parang phase out na daw yan. i asked what do they suggest if the customer wants to have their tire replace on their center, they only have yokohama and bridgestone ecopia.
so mahirap na talaga maghanap ng turanza this days.
Ok nga SNR lalu na sa case mo na along the way. Just make sure na maitago mo yung resibo to claim free service.
Ensure mo rin na within 52 weeks yung date of manufacture from your purchase date. Eto yung last four digits of the DOT code sa gilid ng tire. Yung first two digits ang week of manufacture at tung last two digits naman yung year.
E.g. 1917 means 19th week of year 2017 nung ginawa yung gulong.
Good day, first post and 2017 VX+ owner here. Have some questions regarding the head unit/nav system, hope someone can shed some light
- noticed recently that there's a warning icon in the navigation widget (though navigation works as normal), anyone know what it means? Nothing indicated in the user manual.

- has anyone tried to update the built-in maps?
- any tips on solving bluetooth issues? Contacts no longer sync since updating to IOS11.
Many thanks in advance.![]()
Thanks guys for the input. Ngayon ko lang nalaman na wala pala GPS yung previous versions. And I actually prefer Waze, naOC lang ako dun sa warning icon hehe.
Though I did a hard reset (hold on/off button for 10 secs.) and nawala yung warning icon, pero di pa rin magsync contacts ko. Will think about factory reset.
Kung meron na nakapag-update via CASA ng maps (or the entire firmware itself), would like to get inputs sana ung magkano cost.![]()
