Thank you mga bro for the inputs. So you guys don't feel na half the advertised city driving fuel economy is a problem? There was no traffic when i drove during the weekend which was about 80KM total...I was able to drive 40-60 KPH in EDSA and Q Ave which pushed my fuel economy up to 5.8 KM/L from 5.2 KM/L...tapos in the four weekdays I drove it was before 7am and before 5pm so traffic was not that heavy, except thursday afternoon. Sorry if im a vit confused and puzzled...first car ko kasi and although I did not expect to reach the advertised fuel economy given the breakin and differences in driving conditions...it just felt too low. 😁

it says on the gauge? if yes, most of the time its inaccurate, try the full tank method, go to the nearest gasoline station near your home, fill her up (automatic stop)..reset odometer, drive normal route, before going home, fill her up again, same station, youll see how many liters youve consumed...cross referrence mo sa odometer...L/km

    i have a toyota minicar.
and i found out that the km/li reading has to be zeroed, everytime i filled up.
otherwise, that darned thing would compute km/li, based on the entire odometer reading from the time the car drove out of the factory.
in other words, if i made 5 km/li last fill-up because of heavy traffic, then i got 10 km/li this week because of no traffic, that darned gauge will read as 7.5 km/li.

Yes sir, based sa odometer ang 5.8 KM/L. What I have done so far to countercheck is just divide the odometer reading by the total consumed fuel i have, which computes to approx the same number. I havent tried yung method na nasabi mo though sir, pero will it be effective if 9KM lang roundtrip ko from house to office and back? I'll give this a try this week.

I need to check my manual sir on how the average fuel economy is computed...although feeling ko same siya sa kotse mo. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the feedback. I guess what this means is i need to check the problem further. Something is off if an XT in worse traffic is more fuel efficient than a city. 😁

Well that's out of the box 😁

Good thing you mentioned it though...i'll double check just to be sure but what I recall is that it is km/L...but im a newbie and may have made a mistake. Hopefully this is it but if not...i guess i shall diagnose using the other suggestions before going to honda. Thanks!

as long as its not that painfull sa wallet we just dont think about it, my old 2nd gen jazz consumes like 5-6km/l also based on the FC gauge, pero at P1k it last ( when it was 54+ a liter pesos pa) around 10days.

About full tank method and resetting your trip meter.

And with regards sa fuel consumption mo, if sobrang traffic talaga, talagang mababa lang fuel economy mo.

Another possible reason is since bago palang auto mo, nag aadjust pa yung muscle memory mo kung gaano kadiin or kagaan yung tapak mo sa gas.

Give it a month or two para mag settle lahat.

Ilan ang dinadrive mo na daily distance bro versus the fuel consumption of 20 liters per 10 days?

I drove 130KM for just 6 days and consumed 27 liters of fuel...is that still normal? I dont mind spending for fuel if it should be like that pero this is too excessive.

Thanks for the clarification bro!

Ako naman ung 500pesos ko na gas would last for like 3 to 4 days though hindi siya to the point na empty usually may 2 bars na left, driving 25 to 30km per day, though pang gabi ako and light to moderate traffic lang but still its a good consumption on my part

I got my (brand new) 2018 Honda City 1.5 E CVT just last Thursday, July 6, so it is less than 1 week old. I have driven it daily up until today and have logged about 129 KM total. Problem is the fuel consumption as the average fuel economy reading indicates about 5.7 KM/L which I have confirmed by cross referencing with the total KM traveled along with the amount of fuel that I have consumed to date which is about 20+ liters. I have only driven in Mandaluyong-Makati-QC, experienced a somewhat heavy traffic last Thursday but everything else is pretty much normal city driving. I cannot say that I am light footed on the gas but quite close to it - I am never aggressive with my accelerator or brakes unless it cannot be helped.

My question at this point is do you think my car has a problem or do you think it is just the breakin period? I expected slightly lower fuel economy given that the car is very new, but not half the advertised city driving fuel economy of 10-11 KM/L. Thank you for the inputs.
Bago lang kotse. Start yan from 0.0 km/liter and goes up and time passes. Nothing to worry.

Ganyan talaga pag bago. Di pa totally broken in. Per my experience, around 5000 km nagstart tumipid yung auto ko

Iba iba magiging results nyan.

Like what I’ve posted earlier. Give it a month or two para mag settle in lahat, pati na din yung way of driving mo, pag mas kilala mo na panu tumakbo sasakyan mo.

Thank you mga bro for the feedback, really helpful inputs. Will take note of these and will monitor car performance with breakin.
