End of an era: The FL5 Honda Civic Type R is down to the “last few remaining units” in PH | TopGear PH

Honda has just announced that the 2025 model year Civic Type R is down to the “last few remaining units,” and sooner rather than later, we’ll have to bid it goodbye.

I wonder if the Type R of the 2020's will ever reach the same reverence as the SiR from the late 90's did (B16A2) in the Philippines.

hmmm. the 6th Gen Civic (EK) (and the EG - 5th Gen)

I personally think na super ganda ng timing nung dumating yung 5th Gen locally and the EK made sure na madami sa atin will remember the positives that car had (looking back, grabe ang daming sakit and issues namin with the EG and EK)

When I was in 1st year college, I think pinaka-swerte section namin na 8 kaming may daily ride. 2 of them were using the EK.

Then nung 3rd year kami, 2 of my classmates arrived with the SiR and LXi - naaalala ko pa the SiR guy was saying na his VTEC will kick-in at a certain RPM and wala nun yung LXi

It was the time na wala pang Vios and the City was "too entry level" - para kang nag Corolla XL

Nung may drag racing pa sa Mindanao Ave, Ortigas, Libis and Macapagal... The SiR was the fastest stock car available.

Nowadays, people prefer Crossovers and SUVs. The only person I personally know who drives a Civic Type R is my ex (lady) boss - previous company ko. And everyone in the office still can't believe that she bought it over a Raptor.

I guess most people now buys what ever is more practical.

I'm still a "car guy" pero look like talo na ako sa next voting namin and the last car in our garage will be replaced by a crossover.

Just imagine... fresh out of college, we were joking among friends kung sino si Dom or sino si Brian. Fast forward to 2025... everyone wants to be Hobbs.

Out of reach na din kasi ang Type R, ibang level na sa SIR. Current SI siguro pinaka malapit.

Bulky naman i daily ang Raptor. Mas okay siguro WRX wagon or CX5 turbo.

Sobrang kumpulan na kasi sa ncr kaya mahirap na magsagawa ng ganung klaseng racing. Also, may social media na kaya may magsusumbong lang kagad na iba sa visor niyan if ever may makakita ng nagaganap illegally.

I agree. there was a time when cars ang nag-racing sa Marilaque... "Tanayburgring" days. hahaha

Ngayon, pati motor bawal na... (I heard may bago sa Bulacan and there's another sa Pangasinan area - both outside Metro Manila na)

Agree, more than double price ng Type R compared sa TOTL Civic. Would have been nice if they following the same formula noon... engine lang nagbago
