i do not recognize the make, but in some cars,
the break switch is just an ordinary spring-loaded switch that is affected by the position of the break pedal. it might turn on if the break pedal is pushed down by even a few mm, even as the break fluid isn't significantly moved....

Parang naka-ilaw yung brake light nya.

quite lit, pedal misapplication ang nangyari instead of break he/she stepped on the gas pedal. until the vehicle was already inside the store and the brake lights was on.
