Too many PASAWAY motorcycle RIDERS on the street

Muntik akong makabannga ng MC kahapon, ganito ang nangyari, I was coming from Q.Ave going to the lane for the u-turn slot under the Q.Ave bridge when this MC coming from my blind side (driver side, coverred by pillar) tried to squeeze in front of my car, buti na lang sinabi nung wife ko na may parating na motor so buti na lang nakapag preno ako nung nakita ko na MC sa harap ko, siempre wala na akong magawa kundi businahan siya ng malakas. If napansin ko siya na parating na siya, I would certainly slow down to give way, maingat po akong magmaneho pramis hehehe. The MC rider is coming from my blind side and for sure nakita niya na ako could have slowed down to let me pass para wala ng disgrasya pero siguro naisip niya na maliit lang siya and pwede niya ng isingit yung motor niya. Sabi nga nung wife ko nung nakita niya yung MC parang nagdadalawang isip dumiretso but in the end decided to just go straight ahead. Buti kung laging muntikan lang at di nadidisgrasya e paano kung makatsamba siya na barumbado rin yung driver ng kotse at banggain siya di disgrasya and much worst mamatay siya. To some MC riders, kala niyo ba bakal ang katawan niyo na hindi kayo nasasaktan pag binangga kayo? buti kung one or two times lang may nakikita akong ganito pero everyday sa EDSA pa lang kung makapagpatakbo kayo para kayong laging may hinahabol e, pag di kayo nagbago sa pagmamaneho nyo ng MC (again im not pertaining to all riders) malamang ang hahabulin nyo si kamatayan. Advise lang po, ingat sa pagmamaneho at wag utak talangka sa kalsada.

I have no sympathy for mc drivers. I actually didn't hire a family driver because he owned a motorcycle. That is how much I hate them. And yes I am generalising.

wow ma'am galit ka talaga, reminds me of a female broadcaster of DZMM, on an afternoon public service program, may isang driiver na humuhingi ng tulong dahil hindi niya makuha yun lisensya niya sa pulis, ng malaman niya na bus driver agad niyang sinabi: "sori po hangga't hindi kayo nagbabago mag drive hindi ko po kayo matutulungan" (cant remember her exact words pero parang ganyan yun theme)

Not only MC's are like that. Even pedestrians are all over the place. MC's are just inherently more dangerous.

They should establish already a formal subject in primary and/or secondary education on acceptable street behavior, driving and non-driving. Practical common sense should now be forced-fed nowadays because too much people have little or none of it.

Just this morning, at the Pioneer underpass going towards Mandaluyong, traffic was bumper to bumper but puttering along. Both lanes fully occupied. I was on the right lane as I intend to turn right to Pinatubo street and out to Edsa. I kept close to the wall to my right so that filtering MCs can pass on my left, which has a bigger space as the vehicle son my left are hugging the left wall, creating a wide lane in the middle. Some MCs insisted trying to filter on the right side but upon reaching my car's rear, move to my left as they know they won't fit on my right.

However, there was one moroncyclist who insisted on staying on the right side and attempted to squeeze his moroncycle between my vehicle and the wall while all the others just move to the left side. I couldn't, for the life of me, figure why he was insistent on squeezing there when the lane to my left was very wide, and all other MCs were filtering there. When I noticed that his last attempt was too close for comfort, I lowered my window and shouted something that should make any reasonable man realize the errors of his ways.

That's the only time he stopped trying and moved to my left towards the very wide middle lane. Geez.

Similar thing happened to me, traffic was not moving and motorcycles kept on passing on my front bumper. I was so anxious because I felt like my bumper could get scratched any time. Tumutok ngayon ako sa car sa harap, para di makasingit yung mga motor. Then this one IDIOT decides to squeeze his car still. So I lightly tapped on my horn and the IDIOT gives me me the look and lets me know that he is mad at me. WOW!!!! The nerve! Pag nagasgas ba niya bumper ko may 4.5k siya pang bayad?!??!?!

Kahit mabayaran niya yung 4.5k, kulang pa rin yon. Dapat handa din sila magbayad doon sa hassle na idudulot nila sa iyo --- filing the police report, coordinating with insurance, leaving your car in the talyer or casa for repairs, etc.

That is so true. Yung hassle ang mahirap mabayaran. Palibhasa kasi maliit yung opportunity cost nila.

Same thing happened to me this morning. Although this time, it was some girl on a small 2-wheel (forgot whether it was a scooter or an underbone), without a helmet, that tried to squeeze past the front of my car, despite the tight fit, in order to cross a busy road that had one tiny part of its center island dug open just to let through motorcycles.

Despite the fact that the entire thing is dangerous and opposite of common sense since these numbskulls need to stop whenever they can't pass through the opposite side of the road due to traffic and block one of the lanes as a result.

I had an accident last march 15 involvig with a MC. He hurrily crossed the intersection without me seeing him on time to apply my brakes smoothly. It was my wife shouted ststig theres a motorcycle crossing. Just imagine this, i was driving a a pick up truck, its quite impposible for me not to see this MC from a distant. So my theory was i was already at the the intersection yellow box before this MC crossed my path. please note that im only driving 25 to 30 kph since i even applied my brakes upon reaching the intersection. We came in contact on the middle of the intersection box. My spanking new plate number flew off from the front bumper, as in durog siya. Funny thing the other party claimed that i was at fault eventhough all evidences are not in their favor. Ika nga not well educated kasi to listen to conclusion of the police findings and insurance commission. They sued me, ok lang kasi hindi naman ako kailangan sukipot since im insured kaya insurance ko na bahala. They cant even analyze the evidence like after the collission their MC was still able to crossed the intersection while i was able to stop exactly at tge middle of the intersection with all sign of i was side swiped on my front bumper. Not a damaged at my hood and grille. I pointed out to them if i was the one that bumped them dapat they flew off the MC already and landing in front of my truck but naka tawid pa sila. Its clear na sila yun side swiped sa front portion ng truck ko kasi my plate flew off and punit na front bumper dahil nakayod ng muffler ng MC. I had to bring the rider for a check up and i spent 8k with clean bill of health certificate given to me by the doctor but the following day tumawag sa akin askig for compensation loss kasi hindi siya makakapasok daw. I dont want to argue with them kaya sabi ko talk to my insurance.

Huwag niyo na kasi bayaran kung wala namang damage sa inyo. La naman pera yan for hiring an attorney pa. Lalo na kung kasalanan naman nila.

I don't mean to sound heartless but why do cars always have to shoulder the medical expenses even if it's the MCs fault? Tapos ayan peperahan ka pa! I hate the victim mentality that these people have

Out of humanitarial reason i shouldered the expenses for the medical bill tsaka i feel secured and sound rin na nothing bad really happened to the rider. Yun lang the following day umiba na yun tema nila, nagumpisa na mamera at pinpointing that its my fault. Told them to wait for the result of the police report, lumabas na mali sila pero sabi nila mali ko pa rin. Told them i will let my insurance decide on that pero lumabas mali pa rin sila. I brought this matter to the insurance commission, lumabas mali pa rin sila. Told them im done talking to them after they demanded to have their MC fix kahit ako na mismo maglabas ng pera. I told them, magdemanda nalang kayo kasi makitid ang mga utak ninyo. Which they did, insursnce ko na bahala pero from time to time kinakamusta ko yun insurance for updates

Thats exactly my Point to them, instend of spending money to a loss cause coz talo na sila for sure in filing a case against me, its better to spend it to make that MC running again.

To be honest dati pa galit ako sa mga regular MC on the road. After seeig the rider in pain, naawa ako kaya i told them na dalajin ko muna yun rider sa hospital to have him check by a doctor.

Napagalitsn ako ng insurance ko, next time daw dont spare even a single cent unless they say so. Like what happenened to me in shelling out 8k, i cant reimbursed sa insurance ko kasi lumalabas mali ng MC kaya they cant pay me for that

IIRC the numbskulls make use of a certain clause in traffic law that sounds something like the driver of the car should avoid an accident as much as possible or something. Dunno how that goes pero sa mga makikitid na utak nila at sa taliwas na logic nila, parang ang dating ay lahat ng accident ay kasalanan ng kotse kasi nasa kanila ang capability para maka-iwas ng accident.

This goes for bikes, motorcycles and pedestrians vs. 4-wheels.

Kaya nga instead of stupid issues like *** tape scandals and all that brouhaha, senators should revamp the traffic laws instead.

in many countries, when there are road accidents, the car driver/owner will compensate the pedestrian even though it's the latter's fault.. it happened to a friend in japan, nabangga sya ng sasakyan kahit na kasalanan nya, binayaran sya nung naka bangga sa kanya kahit di naman sya humihingi ng compensation.

in many countries, when there are road accidents, the car driver/owner will compensate the pedestrian even though it's the latter's fault.. it happened to a friend in japan, nabangga sya ng sasakyan kahit na kasalanan nya, binayaran sya nung naka bangga sa kanya kahit di naman sya humihingi ng compensation.

Which is totally wrong. Kapag kasalanan mo, puwede humanitarian consideration pero dapat hindi yung parang namimilit sila. Kung sa akin yan, lalo ko hindi bibigyan dahil sa maling asal. Again I have both a car and an MC so I know exactly what I would feel.

I remember nung strada pa dala ko (withe the stainless back bumper), nabangga ako ng trike na mahina preno since I needed to stop abruptly due to the front car stopping abruptly also. Ayun, otso front rim niya. Nung tinignan ko rear bumper ko, plate lang medyo natupi but no scratch pa nga since rubber yug tumama. Sabi ko (while in the middle of the road) "ok na ako, la naman tama, di na ako magrereklamo, malas mo na lang at hindi ka sumusunod sa keep distance rule eh"., sabay alis. hehe

In bumper to bumper traffic, I see a lot of tricycles and motorcycles really bring their rides extremely close to the vehicle in front. Can't they keep even a one-foot distance? This practice of theirs sometimes end up having their wheels hit the rear bumper of the car. The car owner rarely feels it, but when looked at closely, a light dimple or scratches -- from dirt on the wheel rubbing on the paint -- can be seen. Why do they do this? I myself have been a victim of this, including ten minutes after leaving the casa... after I just had a bumper damage repaired/repainted.
