it's not a wasted space, it's called a safe distance which most MC riders doesn't know since kahit napaka liit na gap papasukin nung mga yan.

March 7th, 2011 10:36 AM #384that's a myth.
so you would rather subtract a lane for cars and dedicate it for motorcycles?
that would make AUTOMOBILE traffic longer, not to mention a domino effect traffic for motorcycles.
also, MOST MC riders? tanong ko lang ha, have YOU ever traveled on a motorcycle and go through the traffic of metro manila?

March 7th, 2011 10:51 AM #385here's a thought for those who keep on insisting on a motorcycle lane.
while driving in your cars, keep to only 1 lane and don't transfer from lane to lane. consider also how will you go up flyovers, underpass, and u-turn slots.
also, which lane will you stay on? the left-most? the right-most? the middle? so that when you propose a motorcycle lane, you will have an idea/answer when I ask "where do you propose to position the motorcycle lane?"

are you really that dumb to think safe driving distance is a myth? even when i'm riding an MC i keep a safe driving distance on other vehicles behind, in front, beside me.
did i ever say give motorcycles it's own lane?
also yes i used to have a sinski bigboy, wave125, raider150 and a cb400 that i used to ride every day to work. one of the reasons i got rid of it is because sobra dami na dumb MC riders about 90% of them actually and metro manila isn't safe anymore for riding an MC. planning to purchase a buell xb12s in the future but will only use it for week end fun runs and stay away from dumb MC riders.
no car can give me as much fun when i'm riding an MC, but i admit that almost all MC riders don't follow traffic rules. even about 40-50% of big bike owners don't follow traffic rules. that's why pag sumasama ako sa mga fun run dati pinipili ko lang mga kasama ko, usually close friends lang ang kasama ko.

March 7th, 2011 11:08 AM #387hmmm some reasonings/arguments on this thread are getting more and more ridiculous.

March 7th, 2011 11:12 AM #388look at the picture again. tell me, in your years of riding and driving, what is the safe distance between vehicles IN STANDSTILL TRAFFIC?
keep in mind that our discussion is revolving around the picture I posted. note the gaps in between cars-- a person can walk with more than enough space in between these spaces.
cars can't go anywhere when stuck in traffic. lane splitting/filtering is acceptable when done in a safe manner. nasa rider na kung tantyado nya ang gap between lanes-- angkop dapat sa laki ng sasakyan nya.
if you didn't mention anything about motorcycle lanes, you would rather motorcycles get in line and occupy the space of a car?

on a stand still traffic, as long as i can see the whole car hangang sa rear tires ok na sa akin. yung iba kasi naka tutok to the point you can see the plate number of the car. pag umaandar i follow the 2 second rule some thing i'm sure you or most MC riders don't know. when i'm on an MC i make it 3 second rule and always stay away from the blind spot of cars beside me. pero that all depends on road/traffic condition.
the winner is selling it :twak2: 350k daw i already messaged him haha. it's just a free car so i'm...
