March 3rd, 2011 11:50 AM #311I have to agree on this..... it is like the NBI proposal to register laptops..... cant catch them... register them....
Adding more regulations are still unrealistic.... TE cannot even enforce the existing ones.....
BTTT: we are a poor country, that is why we have lots of sub 400 out there.... it is more economical and practical means of transportation. More will ride as fuel prices rise and MC prices fall.Last edited by badsekktor; March 3rd, 2011 at 12:11 PM.

I don't mind having motorcycles share the roads like Edsa and C-5. I don't mind motorcycles filtering forward when cars are stopped. I don't mind motorcycles lane splitting with me as long as the lane is wide enough. I don't mind motorcycles overtaking me and getting ahead of me to their destinations. I don't mind motorcycles parking on car-designated slots if they pay the same rate as car riders do. I don't mind having motorcycles on the road... it's a right.
However, I do care about the following:
- motorcycles who cut me without signaling on a road where everyone is doing 60-80 kph
- motorcycles who lane split while traffic is above 30 kph and the lanes are narrow
- motorcycles filtering forward even though spaces between vehicles are too narrow, especially when the one doing the filtering has a big messenger's box on his motorcycle mounted on a metal frame wider than his bike
- motorcycles who insist on staying in the inner lane while not managing more than 40 kph when the traffic all around is at least 50 kph
- motorcycles who persist in counter-flowing on my lane even though my lane is already moving forward
- motorcycles who ignore the red light on a T-intersection and insist on moving forward despite the fact that it is traffic from the perpendicular road has the right of way
- motorcycles who insist on weaving in and out of cars while traffic is above 50 kph
- motorcycles who insist on squeezing between you and the sidewalk while taking a turn, despite your having signaled your intentions many meters ahead of the turn
- motorcycles who thread the needle between a car and the sidewalk, or worse, who insist on mounting the sidewalk
- motorcycles who filter forward without regard to scratching vehicles, then running away when they cause damage
- motorcycles that suddenly pop out between plant boxes or pedestrian paths on an island
- motorcycles on the road that have a "For Registration" sign in place of a real plate number
- motorcycles whose riders are not equipped with safety gear
In all the years I've been driving, I've never bumped any motorcycle because of a mistake I did. However, I did slightly bump one when, without warning, a motorcycle swerved from the lane to my left to the lane to my right at 50 kph without using his signal lights. I managed to brake hard but his cutting was so near my vehicle the brakes could not keep my car from bumping him. But it was a light bump and even if I wanted to stop to assess the damage, the rider just raised his hand (in the usual rider show of apology) then sped off by weaving in and out of the other cars. By the way, that hard braking was dangerous because there was a truck behind me... but you know what? I preferred my vehicle getting hit by the truck rather than me hitting the rider.
On the other hand, in the past three years, my cars have been hit by motorcycles no less than eight times WHILE I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. Six of those resulted in scratches and dents. Most of the incidents involved riders filtering forward. One involved a rider counter flowing trying to get away from breaking the side mirror of a car in front of me while cars where stopped in traffic. In his rush, he scratched my passenger door.
I guess I have the right to get pissed off at irresponsible motorcyclists.

March 3rd, 2011 03:06 PM #314actually the problem right now is the significant increase of dumb PUV drivers, dumb private vehicle drivers, dumb riders....
LTO should really resolve this... it is like an epidemic that's gone out of control...
Only give licenses to those who truly deserve them....

Now, anyone care to answer Bro.digitalron?...
Numbers 2 & 3 (may kasama pang cut sa unahan mo....) and 4 sa lista niya,- araw-araw kong nae-engkwentro iyan.....
Kagabi lang,- umuulan, at turning left ang isang motor coming out of the village going to my lane in the main road,- walang tingin tingin,- at kinuha pa agad ang linya ko. Todo ang preno ko dahil mahahagip ko siya, and I cannot swerve to the right lane (and I have no intention to) dahil may katabi akong sasakyan. Could only shake my head in disbelief.... "Mauna na lang kayo...."

Just what this forum needs. Another person who can see the bigger picture, and not just 10,20,30, or 40% of the picture.
Not one of the people posting in favor of banning small MCs have addressed the crucial points I have pointed out in my previous posts on the effects of such a ban and the possible future bans their simple minds will want in the future. Lets say that they get what they want and small MCs are banned from major roads like EDSA. Do you think these simple minded people will be content? The answer is no. They will again say that we should ban small MCs from all roads when they see all of them on the alternative routes. Then in the future like I stated they will go after Big Bikes. Simple minded people don't make good decisions, and shouldn't be made leaders of any country or organization.
People who want to implement an ordinance/law without actually doing any research on the benefits and adverse effects it will have are DUMB, LAZY, and SHALLOW much like the Politicians that the mases here continue to elect to office.

just like to share( napulot ko lang sa isang forum site :D)
THE BIKER
I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.
I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.
I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.
I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by.
But, you didn't see me, riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.
I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.
I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.
I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old ones to those that had none.
I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children were born and have their name written over and in my heart.
I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.
I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.
I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.
I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.
I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.
I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.
I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me, leave the road.
I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there.
I saw you, go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me. Because, I died that day you cut me off.
I was just a biker. A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.

That poem doesn't apply to 98% of the riders here in this country, which is probably the percentage of bad riders as compared to the good riders.
-----
I've said it before, I'll say it again: idiots run in both 4 and 2 wheels. It's just that the nature of bikes, as smaller, cheaper, more unstable and more flexible, cause it to have more potential to do dumb stunts than 4-wheels, in addition to the stupidity of this country's traffic laws.

Here's the suspect: the oil sending unit . I replaced it over the weekend. I hope this...
