July 10th, 2016 07:53 PM #11it is but logical...
put the clearly read-able sign where the motorist still has a choice.
don't put it where there is no choice anymore. and don't use signage that is difficult to read or easy to miss.
so who can be blamed for this... unthinkingness?
like that no left turn sign along bautista st. corner buendia... some time ago...
a few weeks later, the sign dis-appeared. puede na muli kumaliwa.

Malabo iyang intersection.
Kahit na nasa second to the outermost lane ka ng Katipunan, puwede ka pa ring mag left turn to CP Garcia....
Naknang!!!....

actually, nadale ako kahapon. before, yung two innermost lanes is used to do a left turn sa CPGarcia or U-Turn going back to Katips. ngayon, puro U-Turn na lang going to Katips.
napwersa tuloy akong bumalik ng katips, and look for another u-turn slot (sa tapat ng Miriam) para makakaliwa lang ng CPGarcia.

Good intent but no proper signage. Only Katipunan regulars will understand that.
They should also widen the cordoned lane for the U-turn as effectively only vehicle at a time can do the U-turn.

Nagmessage ako sa MMDA Fb page and the reply was that they will forward the concern Traffic Discipline Office for appropriate action daw.

Ngayon kasi magnet for kotong yan.
Kudos sir for mentioning concern to MMDA.

been thinking about this and not sure if this can help solve the traffic in that area
from this
to this
basically it transfers the u-turn slot going to UP Town for vehicles coming from UP/Balara at the intersection of CP Garcia and Katipunan
* vehicles using the u-turn slot will have a bigger space to maneuver (those who use the current u-turn slot know how difficult it is, not to mention vehicles coming from Ateneo/Miriam seldom yield to you)
* get to make use of the unused road and you are not blocking any traffic with the u-turn divider since the preceding lane from Ateneo/Miriam are used for u-turn as well.
* better merging of traffic for vehicles using the u-turn slot and vehicles coming from Ateneo/Miriam
what do you guys think? what disadvantages do you see? maybe there are things that i'm missing that's why the MMDA hasn't implemented this.
With this sort of gadget the thing to keep in mind is "you get what you pay for". I've been in...
