The very fact that these preconditions exist proves that you don't just pass at the right side whenever you feel like it, just because it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, or because you're doing the other driver a favor by being courteous (courteous in this case being a relative term). There's a reason why the left is still used for overtaking in countries with LHD..
Still doesn't make overtaking on the right illegal as you had stated. Be consistent. Or are yielding to the fact that it's perfectly LEGAL to overtake on the right if pre-conditions exist? Yes?? Well then good...now this is a perfect example of living and learning eh? Get the facts straight then you can talk all you want...I'll listen

Thanks, but no thanks. What you want to think is up to you; I leave it at that. And do what you will on the road. I'm not the one issuing the traffic receipts for it, and I certainly won't be on the receiving end. ;)

=doriftospeed;613703]kasi sa Philippines, Traffic laws are not meant to be followed, they are only there to guide you. hehehe.
Sayang nga, kailangan lang naman aside from kung may "rules of the road" book tayo, kailangan lang talaga ma impliment and rules eh.QUOTE]

no stopping on the stop signs etc.

    Philippine Law;
    Chap IV Article 1
Sec 37: Unless a diff course of action is req in the interest of the safety and the security of life, person, or property, or bec of unreasonable difficulty in the operation in compliance herewith, every person operating a motor vehicle or an animal drawn vehicle on a highway shall pass to the right when meeting persons or vehicles going the same direction, and when turning to the left in going from highway to another, every vehicle shall be conducted to the right of the center of the intersection of the highway.

Sec 39: the driver of any motor vehicle overtaking another vehicle proceeding in the same direction shall pass at a safe distance to the thereof , and shall not again drive to the right side of the highway until safely clear of such overtaken vehicle, except that on a highway, within a business or residential district, having two or more lanes for the movement of traffic in one direction, the driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle on the right. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit a driver overtaking and passing, upon the right, another vehicle which is making or about to make a left turn.

Sec 40: the driver of a vehicle about to be overtaken and passed by another vehicle approaching from the rear shall give way to an overtaking vehicle on suitable and audible signal being given by the driver of the overtaking vehicle, and shall not increase the speed of his vehicle untiol completely passed by the overtaking vehicle.

meron pang iba pero my hands hurt in typing it down manually, wala akong dicta-type software installed sa machine ko eh.
Clearly, maraming noypi drivers ang may alam nito but callously ignore it, but then again mas maraming drivers ang ignorant sa Phil laws like this.

Ignore vs ignorant, the meaning of the two is a breed apart and they comprise the general pinoy drivers and pedestrians on our road. Since we cannot distinguish if the erring individual belongs to either of the two, pagpasensyahin na lang natin sila mga tsikoteers. We might have been guilty of one or two of these infraction in one time or another, and we got away with it. So be the bigger person and let it go. But if you know that they're blatantly ignoring traffic rules in your face, then FLAME ON dudes!
PS: keep up the spirited exchanges, not only is it informative, but it's also entertaining for quiet readers and guests. That's democracy in tsikot world.

Actually, in case no one's noticed yet, Radical and I have been simply demonstrating another pinoy driver trait: being stubborn as heck. :D

What I think and what I write is with basis. If I don't know, I ask... Your basis of thought however uses grossly miscalculated and totally false opinions and use conceit and sarcasm to get away with it. Get real. It's very clear, overtaking on the right being illegal, as you had said several times in this thread, is false. Read lakay's post, absorb it, and get back to me. Or if you desire, do a search in whatever search engine you use...type: "passing on the right" it will hopefully open your mind.

You may have gotten away with sarcasm in this forum or in other forums but not with me. It gives me more energy to prove my point...Admit it bogeyman, you made a mistake...Read lakay's post...It is not illegal to overtake on the right.

    Sad realization eh?

    when in doubt google it:

    taken from http://www.lto.gov.ph/traffic2.html

Passing on the right is permitted only -
    - when overtaking another vehicle making or about to make a left turn or signaling intent to make a left turn.
    - On streets and highways marked for multi-lanes and,
    - On one-way traffic streets.

Thanks NazQ...and this is fact. Not opinion right? Sorry NazQ, I had to ask so that hopefully bogeyman will understand the law once and for all.

This law was probably taken verbatim by our government from California's DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle). It's exactly the same...

    There you go!

Preconditions are still there, which means that it's not universal. Ergo, it will still be frowned upon, especially since it's often misused on the road. No different from frowning upon the prevalent practice of 'flashing' other motorists which, while annoying to certain people (myself included), turns out to be an accepted road signal internationally.

For what it's worth, good job NazQ for actually digging it up yourself. :2thumbsup:

Try driving along Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite, most drivers regularly plying the route overtake on the right side of the road. An example of what has been happening in the Philippines ages on...kung ano ang ginagawa ng karamihan, yun ang nagiging tama sa mata nila.

Sa isang avenue sa Karangalan Village sa Pasig, when you reach the end, the sign clearly says "All vehicles must turn right." But no, iniikutan nila yung harang. Meron ding one way, no entry, pero hindi pa rin sinusunod. I don't know what they get out of this. People would disagree that these people are not stupid, they just don't feel like following the rules. But if they don't feel like following the rules, then they are stupid.

medyas, we cannot just say welcome to the Philippines to all this. Welcome to hell is more appropriate. These Filipinos make me despise being one.

Here's one.

Yikes.
