Nahihirapang mag focus steering through traffic while nakatutok sa pag timpla ng clutch, gas, signal lights. etc. which is napaka delikado.
Pwede ring shocked sila sa driving style dito sa Pilipinas. I believe makaka-adjust din sila sa "rules of engagement" sa kalsada naten.
I was in the same situation nung nagdrive ako sa US, hirap ako sa mga intersection na walang traffic lights.
Please drive defensively, and intelligently. Peace.

hmphh...
kahit kapwa pinoy nga ang hirap mag-adjust eh.
I do had a korean classmate once. I saw him complaining in a pc store. matagal daw yung service. yes, he was arrogant. but then when he left, the deskgirl was saying like "this is not korea".

^^^yun ang mas nakakbwisit kung sinasabi na "in Korea we are ganun, ganito" eh kung ganun dapat bumalik na sila doon at umalis na dito sa Pilipinas...

From LTO
Right of Way Rules are:
1.) First Time Vehicle Rule
At all intersections without "stop" or "yield" signs, slow down and prepare to stop. Yield to vehicles already in the intersection or about to enter it.
2.) Same Time Vehicle Rule
At all intersections without "stop" or "yield" signs (or with stops in all directions). Yield to the vehicle on your right if it has reached the intersection of same time as your vehicle.
3.) Stop Signs
Stop at any limit line or crosswalk. Yield to all approaching vehicles on the through street, go only when it is safe for you to cross. Approaching vehicles should slow down and allow you to get across safely.
4.) Left Turn
Signal left turn and yield to approaching traffic until it is completely safe to finish the turn.
5.) Rotonda
Vehicles around the rotunda have the right-of-way over vehicles which are just about to enter.
When entering a highway from a driveway, yield the right-of-way to traffic on the highway. Never insist on taking the right-of-way if other drivers are not following the rules, let them have the right-of-way even if it belongs to you to prevent possible accidents, however, do not always insist on other going ahead of you, slowing and stopping may delay the flow of traffic.
I always have our security guard assist me when I'm getting out of our driveway, dahil ang daming tangang driver na ang layo na nga nila ayaw pang mag yield dahil nasa right of way daw sila.

a friend of my bro who is a Teacher of Korean kids here. is treated with less repect kasi pinoy nga. it's unfair, but they are just kids who hear bad things about us from their parents. this is not generalization though. but maybe that's how that individual driver thinks.

May 5th, 2008 11:07 AM #30*coDer ok yung rules na pinost mo. I think the TS situation falls on rule number 4
Then, eto last weekend lang from SM Sta. Rosa ako. Ako naman yung liliko pakaliwa, signal ako to turn left, then syempre slow down to stop. Malayo pa yung kasalubong kong van running at 40-50kph.
4.) Left Turn
Signal left turn and yield to approaching traffic until it is completely safe to finish the turn.
He was not going straight in an intersection thats why this doesnt fall under rule 1. The TS needs to make sure that the coast is clear before he could turn left as stated by rule number 4.
Though not on a people carrier like the Innova, I have Yokohama es32 equipped on my Sylphy since...
