IMO, both over-reacted. Hindi naman nasira yung "property" ni Bigote. Any car owner naman knows na when you're inside a car, especially with the windows closed, yung mahinang katok sa labas is magnified audibly. He should have let it pass.

Also, I don't think Bigote deserves to own a gun. Medyo delikado yung may ganung ugali, may implied arrogance. Why bring up the gun ownership issue at all? All this grief over a mere parking incident? Not worth getting your mug plastered all over the internet.

But on the other hand, a part of me screams with joy that somewhere out there, a self-described housewife, who is too lazy to find better parking and would gladly inconvenience others, found her comeuppance. Stick a fork in you, soccer mom!

It would also afford Mr. Joe some privacy by removing/blurring his full name from the letter. It almost the same thing with his picture plastered on the internet. TY.

With the above narrative, it is clear that the guy had his car back-parked while the mom's car is parked facing the curb. So yung driver sides ng two cars ay magkatapat. He said he can't go out of the door properly that he had to use the right-side door. Paano nakapasok si Mommy sa pagitang 6 inches na tinamaan pa nga raw yung door? There are some exaggerations in here.

Not siding with any of them (have not even read more than 3/4 of this thread).

    But for me:
*AdMU should make the parking slots more well defined to avoid drivers from 'inventing' or 'guesstimating' what constitutes a parking slot. Two Chery QQ's can park in a Nissan Patrol sized parking slot if we just eyeball things. I got into a slight disagreement with one of the drivers back in college when I parked my then Pajero beside his Starex. He said I was crowding him. But I pointed to him that I centered my rig perfectly in the parking slot lines. Just so happens the slot was small.

*Parents should just go somewhere rather than stay in school and wait for their kids. They're big enough na. I just leave my elementrary-aged sister in school and go window shopping in Banawe back when I was her designated driver. I'd just return shortly before dismissal. My absence did not seem to have any detrimental effect on her education. [Walking in Banawe did, however, have a detrimental effect on my wallet  ]

*There are always two sides to a story. It's best to avoid conflict. However, if my car was hit by the other car's door, it's time to bring out the M16. joke!

I think both parties are at fault, each making mistakes along the way.

    1. The lady woke up the man to move his car. Lokohin mo lang ang lasing, wag lang ang bagong gising. However, I don't think you could really argue about losing your sleep in a public parking area. If he values his sleep, then go check in a hotel or something.

    2. The fact that the lady was able to park her car besides him disproves his observation na di kaya ipasok ang car at parang sardinas. In fact, if he did give in to the request of the lady, I guess there would be plenty of room between doors.

    3. I don't think the lady having 'a daily routine of being late' is an arguing point. I think everybody has been late at least once in their life, for whatever reason it may be. What is his basis of saying its a daily routine? He noticed the lady everyday? I think he is exaggerating here. I remember of a story about a company in sweden where employees who come in early parks the farthest from the building entrance so that people who are late would have the nearest slot so that they could time in at the shortest time possible. That is just being considerate of the plight of others.

    4. The guy brandishing PPSA sticker and gun club shirts. He had it coming really. Why label yourself as a gun totting person? Plus in his letter, he has the analogy of animals needing their own private space. Sharks attacks because they have to eat, not because you are encroaching on their territory.

    5. The lady opened her door banging on the neighboring car. She has no respect for other people's property. She might have done it in rage, but still not a good reason to do so since she did get her parking space anyway.

    6. Lady abusing the power of the internet by posting his pictures on the Net. I should say also that this is the fault of the threadstarter also.

    7. Ateneo's mistake also for letting a lot of cars park inside the campus where there is just so few parking spaces. Letting them indiscriminately park their vehicles, sometime triple parking, is a recipe for situations just like this one.

    8. and probably me, for getting too much affected by this thread.

Why just can't we all get along?

i agree, but it sometimes that is easier said than done.
    1. you mean to tell you would be liable to kill someone just because they put dimples on your car? been on that road and I knew I would hate myself. think about it dude.

    2. which is why responsible gun owners have to be more discerning than the rest of us un-gunned folks. what they hold in their hands can change their lives, the lives of the people on the other end of the barrel. kaya nga "responsible gun ownership" ang tawag eh. easier said than done? do it, or leave your gun at home.

Will PPSA explain what sanctions will be given to Mr. Hagibis? Will it ever be mentioned here? So we know that at least they are disciplining their ranks properly. Sabi nga sa Spiderman "With great power comes great responsibility."

OT: Honestly, natawa ako sa thread dahil sa mga comments tungkol sa bigote ni bigote. Kaya may halong comedy din.

Another red flag that caught my eye in Mr. Unson's letter (the first one calling himself and the other drivers as "victims of manipulation" LOL) is the metaphor he used to describe the situation: "Sharks attack to protect their territory."
Reeks of too much paranoia to me.

I'm (was?) planning to buy a couple of handguns in the near future for target shooting. I'm just not convinced that carrying it in my car all the time to protect myself from RANDOM highway robberies/hostility is the way to go. I'm more concerned with road raging gun owners than being a victim of random traffic robbery/kidnapping.

But sure, to those who's had legit death threats and business related security concerns, then sure, it's a necessity. Heck, hire armed body guards if needed

I must agree that there is something amiss with Mr. Unson's attitude as well. Are the streets or even society a better place with someone like him being allowed to tote a firearm?

How long will it be before he actually "snaps" and makes another citizen a statistic. The "shark" analogy alone was very telling.

What is even more amazing is he mentions his an alumni. Is that supposed to make him more favored? Is that also telling of what he has actually "learned" from the school. The behavior of cursing at women.

bro, i had never mentioned that i'd kill for a material possession. i said "i don't care who you are." this was a direct response to the comment about shrugging your shoulders right after someone had deliberately dented your car, because the perpetrator is viewed as the weaker ***. if you intentinally damaged my material possession, i don't care who you are. you fix it either through insurance or your own pocket!

i take it that you have never been in a confrontation in your lifetime where you had feared for your life or the lives of your love one. i have not, but i can guarantee you, i'd shoot first before they shoot me. in our society almost everyone who has money has access to guns, so you never know what the other guy/gal is carrying inside his/her coat.

    Bro,

There are plenty of parking lots in the Ateneo. The parking lot where the incident took place is just one of the many.

Saka may kanya-kanyang parking ang college, highschool, gradeschool, at meron ding free for all parking areas. Imposibleng mabantayan lahat ito ng Ateneo, para malaman kung puno na o hindi ang mga parking lots.

Bottom line is here is respect, tolerance and consideration for all road users. Everyone can assert his right to an 'injustice' done on his person, but timing is always crucial in delicate/dangerous situations like this. How often have we been pissed-off by individuals who physically reserve vacant parking spaces or angered by someone who cut in front of a long fastfood queue?

Sa aking lang an acronym to our gun-owner friends:B.I.G.O,T.I.E(Basta Ikaw Gun Owner,Take It Easy)

Exactly. Humans (particularly men) will always have temper/violent outbursts and is magnified more and frequent when in traffic. Guns make Impulse Killing feasible.
Our Frontal Lobes (controls emotions and asses future consequence) are too small and Adrenal Glands are too Large. We all have buttons that can be pushed with spectacular, violent results.

on our part, the club will meet tomorrow to discuss possible courses of action to take re the club member involved. in my opinion, he is not entirely blameless i think. for one, he cursed the lady. regardless of the reason for doing that, it's simply not done in a polite, civilized society. (though in all honesty, if she did that to my car, i'd probably do the same thing. )

thanks for waiting for our side of the story. we'll probably put this issue to rest as soon as the ppsa comes up with its own statement (since they were dragged into this also).

    stay safe guys!
You claimed that he is not blameless for cursing the woman. What about his statement to the effect that he has a gun because of people like her? Shouldn't a gun only be used for actual threat to life or when a crime is committed? Is an altercation grounds for having a gun?

If it isn't bad enough to have to worry about criminals, rebels, wayward cops but now also gun-toting ex-Queen lead singers too. tsk tsk.

Funny how the PPSA members actually saw that such a statement was innocuous.
