I closed my account at Citibank a few months ago because of their lousy service. I get my bills late (FYI: I also prescribed to their paperless billing statement but Citibank mailed these things super late, sometimes i even don't receive them) and I get debited with false transactions that they admit was their fault (so please, always check your statements).

Before I closed my account, I didn't have a billing statement with me so I just called their customer service and paid the amount I THOUGHT I owed. When I got home, I asked my wife the amount on the statement. I overpaid Php 20K+. So I called CITIBANK again and was just informed that an insurance merchant charged me for a year of premium. I called the insurance company, asked for a refund, and told us they'd be returning the money.
I was really busy that 3 months have passed that I forgot to follow-up until.....

The insurance was billing me for failed premium payments. I was actually mad at first because I already paid.

LO AND BEHOLD! They informed me that they refunded the money to CITIBANK.

AND CITIBANK NEVER INFORMED ME!

When I called CITIBANK to complain, Ms. Ellani de Leon (supervisor ito ha!) told me that they did not have any facility to do that.

Huwwwaaatttt??? They have the facility to call you up over and over again wherever you are, if you're overdue, every freaking hour until you pay but they do not have the facility to inform you that THEY OWE YOU MONEY???

And get this, my account has been closed for months, and not even a single notification from them. Grabe!! If I had been diligently paying for my premiums, I wouldn't have known this. Paano pag isang taon at di ko nalaman? Di na rin nila sasabihin?

And worse, di na nila ibabalik ang pera na pinaghirapan natin.

Close your accounts there. Mga manloloko yan.

i closed my citibank credit card account 4 years ago

however, until now, they still consider my credit card active and send me a billing every month although with zero charges. yearly charges for activating the card is negative though as if i am interested in reviving it

what a waste of paper and mailing expenses

So far, okay pa naman ang aming experience sa aming Shell-Citi Visa(with 2 supplementary cards), at 2 (principal) cards ng Citi CashBack na pang-grocery....

Will watch out though. Thanks bro.

So far so good with Citibank. I have Citibank Gold, Shell and Cash back. Billings are on time sa email ko. I didn't like BDO because they charge monthly membership fee. Yun annual fee ng Citibank, i always have them waived. BPI is good rin. No hassle in paying since i can pay it online, just like Citibank thru BPI. HSBC sucks in sending the bill on time plus they refuse to waive annual fees.

ShopMore na card ito. It is my first CC, supplementary ko si wifey.

My 2nd card. Napa-waive ko naman yung 1st annual fee ko (2nd year ng card). May mali kasi silang promo sa SOA na inavail ko tapos wala daw pala ganun. Inilaban ko yun, with all the emails from HSBC. Ayun, na-credit back yung annual fee na na-charge sakin.

Edit. Pwede mapa-waive ang annual fee nila as long as you meet their requirements (min. purchases per month) and prompt payments of your bills (no revolving).

Been using Shell Citibank CC since 1998, no major problems so far. Ayaw nila i waive yung annual fee kasi laki ng rebate ko sa shell tapos zero pa lagi ang SOA ko.

Lagi pala nila ako kinukulit taasan yung credit limit ko kasi 60k lang talaga ang gusto ko.

Never ever touched Citibank since my wife was also pissed at their service and arrogance.

Bago ako mag abroad last year yung tawag nila asking me if I want an increase in my credit limit as much as 500k.

Kakatawag ko lang ngayon, tinaasan ng mga mokong ang credit limit ko from 60k to 100k without my permission. Pina down grade ko ulit to 60k, bukas daw effectivity.

No problems with Citibank credit card usage here. A couple of things I don't like though - the auto-increase of credit limit ; and they send you a letter with a check for you to deposit, sort of a pre-approved personal loan which bugs me alot!

While we're on a topic of credit card services, I have received a pre-approved card from BDO with hefty a credit limit. I've kept the car for a while now and I'm thinking of switching cards for a change. I'll still keep my trusty CTB and use this instead but I wanna ask for feedback from Tsikot cardholders.

>How'd you find BDO card services, especially their CS hotlines?
>Did you experiences problems with POS at establishments? Online usage?
>Do they waive their Annual Fees?

TIA.
