    Additional roads (in this case a freeway) with the same number of vehicles, how can it generate more traffic? Can't see the logic.

    Say there are 100 cars using one road. If I will make one more road and let half of the cars to pass through the new road, will that increase traffic on the roads?

    ^^ true, if everything is constant. However, private/public vehicles are increasing day by day like clockwork. Second, they only increase one portion but the remaining roads are still the same.

    E.g. slex and skyway and amorsolo ramp down.

    So bago matapos ang expansion, the number of vehicles are already double.

    Imho, dapat pagnagplano sila iconsider nila yung factor na iyan. Feeling ko ang naiconsidet lang ung number of vehicle during the design time kaya pagkatapos halos walang silbi.

    Although, pabor yan siguro sa may pera that can afford - imho. Sa tulad kong hampas lupa, tiis tiis sa taffic.

    Are you in favor of the proposed four(4) day work week to ease down traffic congestion amidts the skyway and other roadway projects?

    Kung i-considerer ung holidays, 4 na araw lan naman talaga ang nagiging productive workdays ng mangagawa, malamang maraming company ang mag impose ng no work no pay, ang kawawa pa din ung arawan ang bayad

    yup if we will have the same number of vehicles 3-5 years from now, this will be effective but in our setting, it is not the case. These freeways according to international studies are short term solution.

    The real solution to congestion is to decrease the number of people commuting daily using their private cars. We need more trains. More effective public transportation similar to Singapore. The only hindrance is the cost. But if we can built mega roads which is also costly why not trains?

    Unfortunately It looks like there are no plans to improve our public transportation in the next 10 years.

    In this case Retz, companies will increase the number of working hours to 10 hours for 4 working days. This means workers will wake up at 4am and still will be rushing for the MRT, busses, and jeepneys. The same manner during the night time. They will arrive home at 10pm or 11pm.

    Since the working days are cramped, there will be more volume of commuters on the road because they will be mixing up with the night and off shift workers. Then imagine this trouble during early morning and late night, when the TEs are already/or still sleeping. I remember when they are rehabilitating EDSA between 90 and 94 (if I recall correctly). I am commuting back then.

    i'm wondering how the pasig river public ferry system can be made attractive to puv commuters as a viable and safe alternative to land locked vehicles? iirc, it's been started and restarted thrice already w/ each and every try ending up in the financial trash bin

    noynoy was crucified for the lack of infrastructure projects in his 1st 3 years of office. now that there's a major infra project currently on-going he's being crucified again. :rofl: the guy just can't do anything right

    this is one of the reasons why i jumped ship and left for davao city back then. problema ngayon hindi ko na magawang mawala sa maynila nang matagalan

    ^ Si Shadow, ililipat lang niya ang opisina niya sa bahay at magkukulong for the next 3 years. Lalabas lang para pumunta sa airport pag mag travel. :D

    IMO, whether they increase the roads or not, the rate of new cars on the road will increase in more or less the same amount (more roads will not bring down or raise the price of new cars anyway).Likewise, the current road network is already quite short of what we need to service the current operating capacity of Metro Manila. Metro Manila is a literally a bottleneck between the north and the south so there is really a need for a bypass roads to and from the port and from NLEX-SLEX

    I agree 100% that adding more efficient and clean public transportation modes are very much needed and will work to decrease the use of vehicles if they are centrally planned with parking areas at major stations.

    Anyway, I'm still dumbfounded on the complaints i see online on these projects. They're finally going and yet people still have to gripe.

    * the Pasig river ferry. I think one reason why it isn't successful is that there is no direct access to the ferry stations from the major CBDs (Makati and Ortigas).
