    many years ago,

"at speed, a motorcycle rider is just about as visible as a toothpick. the helmet is the phosphorus'd end."

    a PUJ didn't honk. he rear-ended me.
    of course i hated it!
    heh heh.

    just yesterday,
a jeepney running the neighborhood route, stayed, un-moving in the middle of the road, for an inordinately long period of time.
the driver was waiting for the sari-sari store person to come over and make basag his big bill.

What annoys me is that the traffic light turns green to red so fast just 4 to 5 seconds the moment I step on the gas it already turned yellow so I have to wait for another round.

at laluna kung walang countdown timer!

i was once accosted along sta rosa-tagaytay road.
    "running the red light" daw.

    i reasoned,
"the light turned yellow just as i had crossed the line. had i put on the break, i would have stopped at the exact center of the wide intersection. is that what you want me do?"

Reminds me of the video I saw on Facebook. [emoji23]

Dashcams are not just for banggaan. Protection din sa corrupt enforcers.

SOP na yan dito sa City of Manila.

Solid Green pa talaga pag dating mo sa kanto, as you are crossing it turns to orange & then red (almost immediately) so when you complete crossing the intersection its red.

Then the crooks waiting on the other end flag you down. Manghahapas pa yan ng sasakyan minsan

Observe nyo yung mga traffic lights sa may Taft, Central Market area (close to UST) or even those near Roxas Blvd and Orosa Sts (near PGH) to see what I'm talking about...

I agree with the colonel's (unbiased) opinion. Both parties were at fault.

Yun nga lang, nag counterflow yung motor. Pinapalusot na overtake lang daw but if you ask me, given what we see these guys do on the roads, hindi yan to overtake. It's becoming a societal disease.

If you *knock wood* run into one of these guys driving on the wrong side of the road, and you're not doing anything wrong, (speeding, drunk, etc.) stand your ground and save your dashcam footage.

counterflow pa more, mga motor kase di makapag hintay, harurot agad

Nakakadismaya, but as I said in another post/thread, we have no choice but to adapt to the hazards posed by people who think like that, applying the best defensive driving techniques learned in our years of driving experience.

What to do about them? Rant, vilify them on social media and forums like this? In my opinion, no na. However, these videos are useful at raising awareness about what they're doing wrong, and hopefully, the time will come when they'll realize na alanganin talaga ginagawa nila.

If they stubbornly insist on doing these things, well, all I can say is that THEIR LUCK WILL EVENTUALLY RUN OUT. Mistakes in these cases will irreversibly change their lives for the worse (permanently maimed, crippled or DEAD) as we so often hear in the news.

Hopefully, hindi tayo or any of our loved ones ang madamay sa pinag-gagawa nila.
