To Retz and sirmykel: Where and why do you do it? No more chance to merge into the right turn lane? Or talagang nagmamadali lang at ayaw pumila? Mga UV Express and mga taxi ang mahilig talaga gumawa nito, but I get really annoyed when private cars (na supposedly mas alam ang proper driving etiquette) try to cut into the right turn lanes.
Usually kapag na eebs ko lang ginagawa once in a blue moon ang ganyan.

I rented an apartment for 3 years around the countryside area. MRT or flying cars/buses ang solution dyan (mas mauuna pa magka-flying car bago makapagpatayo ng MRT dyan).
On a related note, this happened to me 2x last week. I was on the 2nd outermost lane in a 4-lane intersection. The 4th (innermost) lane was an extra lane for left turning vehicles. Pagka-green ng light (sabay yung go ng derecho and left turn), 2 cars on the outermost lane motioned slowly that they were turning LEFT!
Kesyo nag hahanapbuhay? Kaya sa ibang tao perwisyo sila sa buhay.

Sometimes i do this, lalo na kapag nagmamadali.
Pero kapag chill lang ako, pumipila ako and if possible, if theres someone who wants to merge (provided he/she is using the signal lights), i give way.
Pero if wala akong nakikitang signal lights, minsan nakikipaglaro pa ako
As far as i know, pwede mo naman gawin yan e, as long as yung line is DASHED and not SOLID.
IIRC, 30 meters from the junction, hindi ka na dapat mag change lane. Thats where the lines turn from dashed to solid.
Well, others may take it as driving etiquette pero for an experienced driver, diskarte lang yan![]()
Yes, as long as the lane separator is dashed, pinapapasok ko ang gustong sumingit. Yung examples na na-cite above eh obviously solid line na: paanan ng flyover, just before the intersection itself.
There's a boundary between "diskarte" and "panlalamang".
On SLEX at least until Alabang, the third lane separator becomes a solid line 1 km before the exit.
More than 30 meters pa nga ata. This is a day to day scene sa tapat ng Cash and Carry sa Makati along Osmena Flyover. Kadikit mo private, public, bus, etc.
Another one is yung flyover sa Roxas Boulevard going over buendia. Public, private ang sumisingit sa junction mismo. Was about to do it kaninang umaga (first time if ever in that area) pero i opted to take Buendia tapos Bautista sa makati.
Pero kapag holiday and the lines are long (very long, as in lahat kayo nakapila), i stay on my lane na. Hindi na ako sumisingit.
I agree that theres a boundary between "diskarte" and "panlalamang". A hairline.
either the TOTL driver gives way for the jeepney to save his/her car or the jeepney gives way for the TOTL driver because he's scared(?)
unless we are referring to a single numbered plate here with wang-wang, then its clearly panlalamang. (provided theres no security issues to deal with)
or maybe cars with convoys who counterflow like its the end of the world.
theres this place in the metro (i forgot where) wherein jeepneys would really take time to go to the side of the road (no hanging rears that occupy a part of another lane) to drop their passengers.
Folks using the overtaking lane running below 80 KPH and staying there... Take note madami sila![]()
