^Can't believe a driving school would say that. Talagang sila pa ha? Anyway, the best thing to do if wala na talagang makita, is to pull over, and then turn on your hazards. I'd also highly suggest to have your glass detailed as it greatly improves visibility on a heavy downpour. You won't even need the "High" setting on your wipers anymore.

Saken other way around yun turo. Wag daw mag-hazard kasi hindi malalaman ng nasa likod mo where you are going. If it's raining hard and mahirap ang visibility, better park somewhere na di makaabala sa traffic then tsaka ka na lang mag-hazard.

Er... ask for a refund pards.

Even foreigners question why the hell Pinoys drive with hazard lights on in the rain.

Or better yet, just install rear fog lights.

or yun nga maglabas nalang sila ng official traffic rules, parang wala ako nakitang ganyan

There was one incident that I saw where a vehicle almost rear ended another vehicle due to hazard light.

The rain poured on Commonwealth and as usual, for some drivers, it's automatic to turn on their hazard lights. There were 3 cars ahead of me but they were on the other lane all with hazard lights on. 2 cars suddenly swerved to my lane and the 3rd car suddenly swerved to the other lane but it was really close. The reason, a stalled vehicle with the hazard lights on.

They probably thought it was just a slow vehicle with the hazard lights on, they didn't know that was the real hazard until they were almost closing on the vehicle yet it was still not moving.

So that means it really produces confusion from a real hazard to not. Plus it gives other drivers headaches too looking at those blinking lights.

and that is why they shouldn't put their hazard lights on. to distinguish those who really are having problems with their vehicles.

How do you know that the driver in front of you has switched his hazard lights off and activated his left/right signals?

Hehe. Mahaba-habang discussion lagi pag tungkol sa driving with hazard lights on in the rain dahil sa misconception na mas magiging "visible" ka in the rain with hazard lights on. Tingin ko more than enough na yung headlights + foglamps sa heavy rain. Better yet, don't change lanes kapag malakas talaga ang ulan.

literal na hazard lights kasi it poses hazard sa ibang motorists

kung gusto talaga maghazard lights during heavy downpour, better to add na lang another thermal flasher wired to the rear lights with a separate switch so the signal lights can still function the way these are meant.

a government owned ambulance suddenly comes from a corner and tries to merge into my lane. that is without any warning. the sirens and blinkers were off. the driver also tried to box me out of my lane. good thing i was travelling at a slow pace and i was able to brake early. then the ambulance driver drives erratically. haaay. these emergency drivers should be educated and trained. i've never encountered a privately driven ambulance like that.

    I agree.

Ung iba, they don't bother to turn on the headlights pero naka hazard.

Ung iba, they only turn on their park lights pero naka hazard.

Bad motoring etiquette: What you hate the most.
