then he change lane tinabihan ako, since medyo crawling na yun takbo i saw him looking at me

I tried to be a good samaritan na rin dati.

    EDSA sa may MEGAMALL.
A motorcycle was squirming its way through traffic. Pinilit niya sumingit between a pearl white civic and a van.
His front tire scuffed the rear bumper of the pearl white civic.

My car was on the other lane. Nag-go na yung lane ko, which allowed me to get next to the civic. I opened my passenger window to try to get the owner's attention.

Ayun, nakita ko the driver of the pearl white civic was bobbing his head up and down. Sobrang lakas siguro ng tugtog sa loob ng car niya hindi na niya narinig na binunggo siya ng motorsiklo.

    I just drove ahead.

There is no offense taken. If mali yung driving habits ko then thanks for those who gave points in correcting it. I dont think they even teach this sa driving school. This is the beauty in exchange of ideas, you realize you're wrong and you must learn to accept it and change for the better.

I'm curious, where did you learn/hear this driving habit?

As far as i've known when you do not have the right of way, you should always be cautious and wait for the other party to give it to you. Kaya like i said, upon merging i do not run the same speed of those already in the highway, once lang na nakapasok na ko do i pick up the speed and match the other vehicles.. of course i have the proper signals when merging (and by habit even upon changing lanes kahit walang ibang vehicle nearby).. if ever naman na ako yung nakapwesto sa lane where merging usually takes place (like those entry points ng expressway) i am also cautious na may biglang may magmemerge and i adjust my speed cause i know that they run slower than me dahil galing nga sila sa labas... so far I haven't encountered any trouble nor inconvenienced anyone i've merged lanes with kaya i think there is nothing wrong with my driving.

medyo tama rin si boss stickers, well technically mali, kasi in international highways, meron about 500m to 1km na merging lane to pick up speed before merging onto the actual highway, kaso minsan wala namang ganito sa mga highway natin. meron man eh sobrang iksi, so alanganin talaga, at aalalay ka talaga.

Alabang is where I usually enter (Northbound) and Magallanes if southbound.

yup sa ilalim, and i know you could imagine how fast the cars are approaching especially they are descending the viaduct, its nearly impossible to match their speed from the toll booth to the merging point.

yep, i am also guilty as you are as i enter the SLEX kinda slow, pero i just think of it earlier that my car cannot run 0-80kph in what less than 10 seconds to match the vehicles speed at SLEX and have ample time to merge not to mention that the merging lane of SLEX is mostly less than 200~300 meters lang kasama na yung toll booth dun.

IMHO, sa skyway ramp pwede yung tuturial pero sa SLEX - malabo? ang may pinakamahabang entrada na alam ko sa slex is filinvest exit, pero paikot yun.

I have no idea reagarding NLEX, pero IMHO i was in Bocaue exit last time, imposible din kahit medyo mahaba na yung lane na iyun. kasi you dont have enough time to switch lane at 80KPH due to limitation in the merging lane.

Macapagal to Coastal Road medyo imposible din eh. sharp curve sa dulo and i need to run and you expect us running around 80KPH prior to changing lanes?

Hehehehe, sometimes yung mga nababasa sa internet hindi lahat tama minsan preferrence lang yan nung gumawa or setting up norms ng grupo nila.

hehehe. i will drive as safe as possible and defensive as possible. dun sa mga nagcomment ng negative about your post, i think namisinterpret lang nila na nakababad ka sa 20~40KPH, nakalimutan iconsider siguro yung accelaration mo once you are in the proper lane of the expressway.

    Hope this helps.

dapat as a solution eh skyway should be the primary road and underneath it should be the secondary as payment for their faulty design and the toll fee should be the same for above and below

when you enter an expressway speedup and get ready to match the speed of the cars already in the expressway... driving too slow is as dangerous as driving too fast on the expressway
Agree here.... you have to be in the "same speed" as the other vehicles in the expressway before you merge, so that there will be no hold up of traffic behind you....

One of my favorite schemes in traffic merging is two-lane merging, each with alternating red and green traffic lights... When it's your turn to merge(green), you have to accelerate fast, like a naval fighter plane pilot being catapulted from an aircraft carrier, hit the highway speed and merge...

Palpak naman ang driving schools e...

Like an instructor from A1 Driving School,- teaching his students to step on the brake while making a turn,- bad.

Step on the brake and slow down when approaching the turn,- but step on the gas (your flavor) when you are actually making the turn, so that you do not lose steering and you gain traction... May not be totally true for new cars with ABS/EDB, traction control et al, but it should work.

    case to case basis

    eto example.

Coming from EDSA southbound (balintawak) pababa ng NLEX,

kurbada and maikli lang yun daan yun bago ka pumasok ng nlex you can't really speed up.

kaya dapat cautious ka papasok and pag merge dahil nakabwelo and mabilis na yung mga sasakyan pagpasok mo.

unlike kung galing ka ng A. bonifacio since diretso lang yun papasok na ng NLEX you can speed up talaga

tanong lang mga boss ano, yung mga armored vehicle ba, yun bang mga nagdadala ng mga pera. excempted ba sila sa traffic rules? kanina kasi may barubal na armored vehicle akong na encounter, hala, biglang change ng lane without signal, tapos pagdating sa intersection ng congre going to north ave, aba e tumambay sa left most lane para kumaliwa, e naka green signal ang stoplight, at saka ang liwanag, No Left Turn dun. ano tong mga to siga?

Afaik walang written rule. Pero mga barumbado talaga yan mga yan. Bully sa daan. To think yun visibility ng driver eh limited.
