European Fords are pretty ok (e.g. Focus).

Asian Fords also seem to work ok (e.g. Everest)

American Fords seem to be the crappiest. The trim on my dad's Expedtion is starting to corrode. The vehicle is used only twice a month at the most and is well maintained. I can't blame the garage as the reason for the corrosion since there are other vehicle sharing the space and they don't have such problems.

the car is still under warranty and you're paying your own money to fly in a new master cylinder?

i'm not surprised to read your story. makes me wonder why Ford is still one of the biggest companies worldwide with still a huge market share. i don't know anybody who owns an Explorer (and they are as common as mosquitoes here) that hasn't had problems with it...and yet it and the Expedition continue to be one of the top selling vehicles.

    Fix Or Repair Daily

pero mukhang eminent yang slogan na yan mostly for american-made/models

Well American cars are a piece of $h!t no need to explain I already heard alot of comments. U.S. car makers don't take pride in their cars so that = junk

Has the lemon law really been passed or taken effect in our country? When? Coz, I could remember the geniune opposition made a statement that one of their agendas is to establish a lemon law.

what a shame...and some pinoys equate a ford with prestige pa naman...just look at the numerous used car lots here..dami expeds, sport trac and f150 binebenta..ang mura pa, 300k-500k...wala pa bumibili nyan hehe..bad fuel economy + low build quality...and add to that the 5+yrs of use and abuse...wala na

they hold a good reputation here in europe mainly in the UK, maybe the big ford cars are really crap, but focus's and mondeo's are pretty much reliable and top sellers. very rare i see these explorer's and f150's here in england. im sorry to hear your story, it is really a nightmare.

--very true. I've friends who used to own Fords (Expe and F-150) who had unpleasant experiences with local Ford dealers here (although your stated numerous problems probably takes the cake). They eventually sold their Fords and bought either a Toyota or Hyundai. Wala daw talaga kwenta mga Ford dealers dito.

why not just pay of Ford Technician 100K and let 'em fix all problems. condition is all or nothing.
He already stated that FORD technicians / mechanics do not know how to fix the problems or are too stupid to do so. If these problems are coming out this early, there will be more defects when the car is older. FORD - Fix Or Repair Daily.

Well, for those of you who are thinking of buying a Ford, let my experience be a lesson to you all..........Walang kwenta ang Ford and mas lalo na walang kwenta ang mga dealers dito.........I'm just glad to get that freaking junk off my hands......Not only is the quality of my car ghastly, you won't get decent service from the dealership......"puro observe muna natin, puro lubrication, puro normal lang yan"......short of the car exploding by itself, everthing is normal to those boneheads...they don't stand by their products puro sales talk lang..........Like what people always say, you can fool people only once...isang beses lang talaga for me......This is going to be my 1st and last FORD

they can fix it for a price hehehe. that's what i'm suggesting. who would resist a 100k tip? ni wala pa sa 5% ng i-spend nya.

that's better than losing 1M+ value. and buying another Prado * 3M. exclusive of insurance pa yan siguro and other add-ons.
that's one helluva way to clear your mind, spend 4M. anyway, i'm just applying business logic here.

his Ford is an SUV, and still makes a good impression while on the road. Ford Explorer is like the CRV of America. he can still bank on its image.
lalo na ngaun, a bnew Ford Explorer costs 2.2M, 4x2 lang. yun sa kanya, 4x4 pa ata.

Well, m54, I have to do something if Ford refuses to acknowledge there's a problem with the vehicle. Hirap kausap ang Ford like I said, 1 week na nasa kanila yung car and it still needs further observation daw......For Ford, "needs further obrservation" = "we are keeping your car for a few days without doing anything to it". Ibabalik lang nila sa yo yung kotse then sasabihin sayo wala silang nakikitang problem....That's "Ford Quality Service" for you. If they are good at anything, they're experts at giving people excuses. Trust me!!!! Been there before!!!!!! I'm sick and tired of it already. Para ka pang magmamakaawa to have them replace or fix anything for you when your car is still under warranty. I'm so so sick of hearing excuses after excuses and at this point, I think they are not in a position anymore to tell me what's wrong with the car. It seems they are as clueless about fixing cars as I am about brain surgery. I just think it's my moral responsibility to make sure na walang mangyayari to the next owner. Hindi ko naman pwede sabihin sa kanya na there's nothing wrong with the car when I sell it to him nor can I say din na there's a problem with the brake system. Who in their right mind would buy that car?????? and I think naman I have a moral responsibility to the next owner to make sure na walang mangyayari sa kanya or any of his family members.

    Ditto on this...

We've had the Asian Fords (an Everest and Escape) and both are quite okay. These were Mazda based. The American models are the ones that i see to be more problematic in terms of quality although the Expe of my aunt (9 years and 120k+ kms old) seems to be holding better (mechanically) then my Tito's sparringly used Suburban of the same age. The Suburban trim aged better though.

The Japs (and now the Koreans) still have better quality then the Americans it seems.

The problem is some of the components are inherently designed not to be tough. Kaya kahit ayusin nila iyan back to 'brand new' standards it is still bound to fail. The rattles in the interior are not only due to crappy workmanship, it is also due to crappy parts. Sino ba naman ang kukuha sa Orocan para maging supplier ng interior ng Php2M++ na sasakyan? No matter how well you put it together, the parts are still crap. Put two pieces of hard plastic near each other and they will rattle, hindi ba naisip ng Ford yun?

Yung roof console nga ni RedHorse ayaw kumapit diba? Eh wala namang mali sa pagkaka assemble. Talagang mali lang yung design using plastic bits to hold it.

I heard from a friend that Ford is close to closing down their dealerships here due to poor sales.
