2 days lang ako nawala nagulo na thread na to. Malamang salesman yan heheh
How does the noice cancellation works?
Doesnt sound good to me. [emoji12]
^Like a servo system. It will measure/monitor the noise outside and then create the same noise inside but of different phase. Parang vibration reduction system ng DSLR.
Test drove the 2.2 Trend today. Had the ff observations:
- Performance is adequate, just like the 2.5 VNT Fortuner. You won't be buried in your seat like in a Montero, but it pulls nicely with seemingly less turbo lag than the old 2.2 (or maybe it's just not noticeable with an AT compared to my old MT Ranger before).
- EPS is crazy light during parking, then suddenly becomes heavy at 10 kph onwards. Feels very, very artificial, but at least it makes it easier to maneuver.
- Very, very difficult to get into the 3rd row. Really bad move not to have the 2nd row tumble. Can't imagine how older, fatter people can get in.
- 18s on the Trend actually look nice enough. I thought it'd look small, but it's just right. 20s on the Titanium look better, but the Trend will hold its own against the Titanium.
- Pricing strategy of Ford seems to put the Trend as a decoy so people will get the Titanium (merely a 100k increase). Takes advantage of suggestive pricing.
- Interior feels very upscale. This generation of PPVs really closes the gap between the build quality of global crossovers compared to PPVs.
- Brakes feel weak compared to the Ranger. The car felt very heavy under hard braking, with lots of nose dive.
- Handling is very truck like. Numb steering plus lots of body roll mean that this isn't a car that'll inspire you to take corners at speed. Still better than the current Montero and Fortuner though. Perhaps I was just expecting a bit more cuz I was impressed with the handling of the Ranger compared to all other pickups I've driven.
I thought they would brake gracefully with the EBD and BA. Maybe they also copied the Prado brakes. It nose dived also during hard braking hehehe.
Ganda saw one today, it looks timeless too di tulad ng uso ngaun kung hindi curvy, kodo design or mukang insect
It can pass as an SUv version of an American Muscle car. Sarap iporma ..
Well, this fat, old guy with failing knees & bad back found it awesomely difficult to get to the 3rd row and, once there, found it rather wanting - in contrast to the soon-to-be-replaced Fortuner's 3rd row.

Actually, once seated on the 3rd row, I didn't find it so bad. If you slide the second row forward, there's enough legroom. The floor is low enough that your legs aren't bent uncomfortably.
Pero hassle talaga getting in and out.
