Isang advantage ng ecosport A/T is engine brake after accelaration. Lalo ung sa starex and pajero.

Be wary of what sales agents tell you, they'll say anything just to make a sale.

July 6th, 2014 11:31 AM #1174My uncle's Focus so far has no issues but the shuddering was present inslow crawl. It was more prevalentin his Fiesta 1.5.
For the Focus, I told him to just use the manual mode in traffic to force the transmission to just use first gear only so that it doesn't get "confused" and avoids the shuddering issue altogether which works.
The Fiesta I know does not have. I don't know if they equipped a manual override with the Ecosport or the newer Fiestas. But the only way you could avoid shuddering is if you have more torque on hand to use to push the vehicle (hence why I believe the Ecoboost engine prevents this issue from occurring).
I have not heard of Fiesta owner's with Ecoboost complaining yet of the shuddering issue. But if there are those with Ecoboost Fiestas who could weigh in, then it would be helpful. As it stands, the Ecosport looks like it will suffer more from the shuddering given the added weight for the same/similar power with the Fiesta 1.5, unless you have a manual override.
The transmission issue will surely surface on way or another as it looks like no matter what software upgrade they claim to have or will get, it is not suited for our type of traffic conditions.
My two cents. I'd just go with MT if I were to choose to avoid the hassle altogether or wait for Ford to release a version with a Manual override to the shifting for city traffic conditions (not that gaudy small push button at the shift lever - that was just dumb)

Have safe trip sir
Im nearing 1k na, nasa 800++ na
Will give feedback after the 1k PMS
Dun lang malalaman if underpower nga, in my opinion underpower sya if malapit ka na sa redline tapos wala talaga maka arangkada, eh during break in, di
nga makaabot sa near redline, so i think may parang limiter sya, will see in a few days time

The thing I don't like with the Titanium variant is the sunroof. Potential maintenance headache in the future. If only they can install the reverse sensor and make it appear in the display in the Trend variant.

My wife and I recently test drove the Ecosport. We drove the a/t trend variant. The very first thing i noticed was that the car would jerk alot. (Shifting up and shifting down) That test drive was a deal breaker. Knowing that the car only had 7,000kms on its odo the shifting really wasnt smooth at all. (Kinda felt like a secondhand trans was placed in it)
The SA advised me that it is normal since it is a test drive unit, and the car is trying to learn the driving style of the driver.

Getting a toyota would be ideal mostly for those looking for practicality or one who will use it...
