The rock crawling everest will probably be the Bronco. Its off road capability is just very good. the edge and explorer are just too soft for offroading..

An Everest powered by the 2.3L Ecoboost engine (270hp/400Nm), why not? Question is would it sell locally.
Well, reports say the new Bronco will be based off the the Ranger platform. The current Everest would be the best candidate for a test mule.

That's probably just the prototype of the refreshed Everest (The refreshed 2019 Ranger and Everest will probably be unveiled one after the other) so it makes sense to see both being tested the same time.
