October 30th, 2002 04:48 PM #65sdavis,
Mura yang kuha mo sa Magnatec and I assume yan yung gallon pack ano?Pero kung ako tatanungin mo since 10W40 grade ang Magnatec, I would feed my engine with Shell Helix Plus 10W40 or Mobil1 Super S 10W40 (both are top of the line semi-synthetic oils) di lang cost-effective but performance-proven kasi may mga acquaintances ako who are using said motor oils with odometer reading of 160,000-200,000 kilometers di pa overhauled ang engine and runs like a breeze  now that's proven engine protection! Both motor oils cost P800+ a gallon :D
Next oil change I might shift to Shell Helix Plus kasi recommended oil for my jurassic 12-year old engine is 10W30 or 10W40.

recommended ba ang oil flushing, yun bang you also use oil to flush the engine instead of an engine flush? if recommended, how is this done properly and economically?

November 7th, 2002 06:32 PM #69gjtech,
If you regularly change your engine's oil, there's no need to use engine flush. 8)
Otherwise, a good oil flushing is recommended (not the ones containing petroleum distillates). For engine flushing, I usually use either ATF or Caltex Power flushing oil  They surely make my engine internals squeaky clean
