Came across this while comparing affordable and widely available gear oils for manual transmission (Caltex Thuban GL4 SAE90 and Petron GEP SAE90):

Seems that Petron REV-X All-Terrain has a high TBN at 16. Interesting..

How come sila meh PDS ng petron lubricants tapos yung mismong Petron website ayaw i-publish PDS ng lubricants nila,,,
Lapit lang pala office nila samin...hehe
TBN of 16 is really quite high, parang marine oils(15-20 TBN)

Possibly another oil favorite if the price is right?
Eto pala ang data sheet ng SK Lubricants (ZIC):

Sayang hindi available ang ZIC Gear FF dito sa amin. Yung 75w-85 GL4 sana para sa manual transmission para straight ZIC oils na. Will be using ZIC Gear 5 80w-90 GL5 for the differentials.Last edited by doy; November 23rd, 2012 at 10:24 PM.

Pati pala tranny oil meron din dito hehe. Matanong ko na rin yung akin.
Due na rin MT oil ko (Vios 1.3E MT) maganda ba ang Toyota MT oil? Or what can you guys recommend? As well as the viscosity? Thanks.

Depende po sa rating na nakasulat sa manual book. Usually SAE 90 (monograde) GL4 ang available. I just chose the affordable and widely available with good viscosity index (around 100) which is Caltex Thuban SAE 90 GL4 at P194/liter dito sa province. GL5 kase lahat ng gear oils sa Ace Hardware at Handyman dito. Baka corrosive na para sa metals sa transmission.

Im doing a mod..hehe.. tapos na ako sa planning stage... I'll be putting up a transmission filter for the transmission fluid of my eve...
before kasi fuel filter ang mod ko, using fleetguard components, 1 year na toh. super linis fuel going into engine.
now transmission fluid line naman lalagyan ko...
i'll be placing it sa return line coming from the transmission cooler,
i'll be using either 3/4-16 thread or 1-12 thread for the head assembly depending on what is available locally...
then yung transmission filter body will be a hydraulic/transmission type media
Head part number 3/4-16 thread= ST1025HH (fleetguard)
media= B2/BT9388/BT420/BT8916/B163/BT8493/BT8908/BT8323/BT8409/BT8905/B252/B34/BT5/BT8301
Head part number 1-12 thread= FS1241B (fleetguard)
media= BT8499/BT9561/BT9553/BT357/BT346/HF35139/HF6119/HF6120
i hope matapos ko within this week.. hehehe...
In that case, I think NCAP is something that they have privatized.
SC (temporarily) stops NCAP
