Been reading and re-reading this thread for the past two weeks. :nerd:
Overload kung overload! Anyway, been "dabbling" with gas engines since 2008 so I'm somewhat familiar with the do's and don'ts.
But I know next to zero regarding diesel rigs until two weeks ago. Since I was tasked to look after two diesel rigs for a friend, just wanna verify the following for a 2008 Everest 2.5 TDCi 4X2 and a 2012 Montero 2.5VGT 4X2:
1.) Using OEM or the cheaper but ok Bosch oil filters with Mobil Delvac MX/Delo Ultra, change both oil/filter every 5K kms
2.) Using OEM or Bosch with Full Syn oil like Trekker, Mitsu Fullsyn, Redline, etc..., change filter only at 5K, change both at 10K.
3.) Using Baldwin B2 (Everest) and BD28 (Montero) with Delvac MX/Delo Ultra/Delo400/Top1 Semi Syn/Zic Up/Trekker Full Syn/Zic RV/Redline... ALL can go 10K Kms without filter changes at 5K Kms?
I apologize for the kulit questions. I really just need a clear picture in my head para safe and sound yung mga rigs (ay yung OC kung utak)
4.) Oil Catch Can is a must esp in diesel engines? - I have this in my high revving Corolla, I assume the diesel setup is different?
This thread is amazing.![]()
...now thinking hard how to make a mini centrifugal oil separator. :D
Finally, got my two year supply of Baldwin oil filters from Gigatrade at Caloocan City. Opted to use B131, instead of the famous BT223, mataas konti ang price niya. It has a smaller gasket diameter that match the B33, just what I'm looking for, but its height and diameter is similar to that of the BT223. Also, opted to use Caltex DGU to clean up my engine of sludge, if present. Will try to make 8k kms OCI, this time, or 10k kms pag pwede pat... BTW, my car is bigbody Corolla GLi. Thanks sa mga gurus dito, learned a lot...
me naka gamit na ba sainyo ng petron trekker all-terrain 5w-40 fully syn? been thinking if ito gamitin ko then baldwin bd28...
Semi-syn lang trekker all-terrain, group 3 base same with top 1. You're better off with SDO and liquimoly imho.

Gud pm, mga bro! Anybody knows ano Baldwin oil filter ang cross match with ViC C-512 I'm still using for my 2001 Isuzu Fuego pick up with 2.5 4JA1 TDI engine. Will combine it with Caltex DGU and hope to last for 7k OCI.

Sirs,
Im looking for Baldwin PA2884, this is an air filter for crosswind but it's very difficult to find locally. Do you know where i can find it? i ask volmax but they don't carry this model.
Doc, I bought this fuel filter earlier at Gigatrade
May I ask? Is it really quite heavy? Also, it's not US made. Its already made in Indonesia. Did I got the original Donaldson? It came with a box. I'll be using this one on a 4M40 Pajero.
Donaldson Manufactures in Indonesia as well.
