Is it ok to have changing oil viscosities?

Is it alot better than the amsoil OE 5w-30? I mean i dont mind spending but if im going to be changing my oil 2x a year and drive less than 4000 km a year , will i get the benefits of the highly regarded SS series? (Saw in shopee OE is at 425/L, SS is at 675/L, so that puts it even higher than the M1 5w-30 at 600/L)

250x4 or 2000 pesos per year isnt thst bad.

all oils work as i said. they dont magically make the engine last a lifetime. other components will fail first. tensioners bearings batteries. starters. coilpacks.

Alright so if you had the choice, which one?

Amsoil OE 5w-30 5ltrs = 2125
Motorcraft FS 5w-30 5L = 1900
Mobil 1 5w-30 5L = 3000

OE every 6months.

my car is almost 350,000km(349,800km to be exact) all I do is proper oil change interval. my engine kills oil faster.. hence shorter intervals of 3500km. I do drive badly..5500rpm if i need to accelerate to speed ��

Alright, I've heard good things about oe from Bob is the oil guy forums and at barely more expensive than the Motorcraft oil it should be good, and yeah, still plan to change every 6 months (amsoil oe 5w30 outside, then helix ultra prof 5w40 in the casa, rinse and repeat).will probably just get a Motorcraft filter from Banawe and order the oil online (unless I can find it in a store)

my formula for the past 15 years has been, regular oil, changed religiously every 5000 km.
of course, filter is changed every time.

Regular Engine Oil... ok sa ok..

Lalo kung kung meron leak.... basta hindi kumatok ang piston....


kahit mag-mixed ang regular oil to full synthetic.. hindi yan issue..


pero once na PMS.. mandatory na... 5K PMS... kahit kaya ng engine yung oil, kahit halo-halo pa yan..

yung mga "rubber-gaskets" related sa engine seal...

I see. Get a decent synthetic oil like Shell, Mobil, Valvoline etc.. and change it 1x a year. If you want, you could change (only) the oil filter every 6 months.

Same here, my car gets less than 5k a year (6 yes old with less than 30k Odo) . I don't mind paying for premium tho if it really protects my engine which is why I was still l considering m1. Tho the Motorcraft is very tempting at 350/l.

*mrbig what filter do you use? Motorcraft?

Your car bro is still new having less than 30K odo. my thoughts is stick to the good quality oil along with good quality oil filter. good oil goes hand in hand with A1 filter. what's the use of using good oil if there are filtration issues..?
