Sorry hi yeah its the gasoline one.

Looking through the specs required by the manual, only 2 oils so far ive seen have what it needs (ACEA a5/b5)

Mobil 1 5w-30 (saw some sellers online)
Amsoil OE 5w-30 (online sellers as well)

So im deciding between these two

Ive also seen/know these oils are good

Royal Purple 5w-30 (a well known talyer in san juan sells this as part of the package)
Shell Helix HX8 5w-30 (asked in a shell service station and this was recommended, they had the helix ultra 0w-40 but i dunno if thats good as its even farther from the manual spec)
Motorcraft 5w-30 (seems to be a fan favorite on both local focus FB groups and online oil forums)

Of all of these the motorcraft 5w30 is the cheapest at 380 a liter in banawe, and ive seen good comments about it though it does not specifically state ACEA A5/B5 (though it is "ford recommended" and essentialy a ford brand)

Helix and royal purple are both good brands im sure but not ACEA A5/B5 (well not specified for RP and i think the helix is A3/B3)

So weve got M1 and Amsoil OE. Amsoil being cheap at around 400-450/L online, and M1 having an "ok" price for a "premium" brand at 600/L. My biggest contetion of course is that im buying em online, so while i do belive there shouldnt be any problems, theres just that little scratch at the back of your head, though the M1 seller does have the verification QR codes on the bottles which you can scan to see if the bottle is authentic.

    Thoughts?

Used the RP and M1, waste of money on my part, in 6months i normally drive just 2k kms, when the time comes to change the oil...its still clean.., i just use 5L of zic 10w 40, less than 2k including filter..

Same here, my car gets less than 5k a year (6 yes old with less than 30k Odo) . I don't mind paying for premium tho if it really protects my engine which is why I was still l considering m1. Tho the Motorcraft is very tempting at 350/l.

*mrbig what filter do you use? Motorcraft?

Basically, as long as it meets the OEM requirements, then it is fine. As long as you buy them from reputable sellers.

There are other factors to consider aside from the brand of oil:

    - Driving habits
    - Maintenance of the vehicle
    - Fuel quality
    - Road/weather/traffic conditions

if you drive less than 5K km a year, i believe ordinary mineral oil will be fine.
    no need for special oils.
    my opinion.

change oil... of the car's engine? it is a requirement, po.
nasa owner's manual ang schedule and oil specifications. best to stay faithful to it.

no, it will not directly affect your car's appliances.
but if something happens to the engine because of oil issues, then most of those electrical appliances will be affected, because they get their electricity from the alternator that is run by the engine.

Your car bro is still new having less than 30K odo. my thoughts is stick to the good quality oil along with good quality oil filter. good oil goes hand in hand with A1 filter. what's the use of using good oil if there are filtration issues..?

I actually agree which is why id still like to stick to full synthetic and oil and oil filter change every 6 months.

So far what im already looking at is amsoil OE 5w-30 with a motorcraft filter from banawe

It's a waste to replace high quality oil such as Amsoil every 6 months with 5k kms or about 3k miles. Don't overthink it man! Change it every 6 months with conventional oil or every 12 months with synthetic.

But hey, it's your money and time.

Unless your car's engine requires fully synthetic oil only. You have no choice but stick to its needs. With my Fiesta Ecoboost before, I just change oil every 10k km and it covers a period of around 12 months.

Buti pa VW cars, change oil (FS only) every 15k km or 12 months.

I'm just following the manual that states that oil change should be every 10k kms or every 6 months whichever comes first. I was thinking of doing once a year but after asking around and even dojng some basic googling that it's still recommended to change it 2x a year with my type of driving (water doesn't get out enough, etc etc).

The amsoil oe is about 50 bucks more expensive than the Motorcraft one (425 vs 380) and 40 bucks more expensive than a Castrol semi synthetic (around 388?)which is why I was considering it. To clarify its the amsoil oe, not the signature series (675/l)
I do feel as I am probably overthinking it lol, it's just that it'll be my first oil change outside casa which is why I'm trying to get as much info as I can. At this point I'm trying to find a good filter thatll fit the car as well (most likely a Motorcraft one since they're relatively good priced at about 350-400)

Regardless, I do appreciate the input and any advice alot, so thank you!

Makes sense. anyway if your mileage ave is around 5k per year and your driving habits are gentle. You're still on the safe side kasi 50% lang ng supposed drain interval period nag palit ka na ng oil.
