January 10th, 2021 07:25 PM #191Be careful guys on what you install on your cars especially air filters that claim to be washable performance filters, saving up on your filters will be a much more expensive payback when you repair your engine.
K&N and BMG filters tested in the United States of America:

2. Do performance air filters like BMC, K&N, Sprint let more sand and dust than OEM and is it worth it? - YouTube
K&N filters checked by Master Garage PH, apparently sand and other much smaller particles are going through K&N's air filter even with oil applied from K&N recharger.

February 5th, 2025 11:18 AM #193Just for your information Aisin has been adding a lot of aftermarket spare parts and majority of them come from completely independent factories from China which do not have any relation with Aisin asides from Aisin purchasing and rebranding their products into the Aisin brand, including a significant number of brake master assemblies, brake pads, wheel cylinders, water pumps & etc... which they manufacture as OEM but they sell a completely different item for the aftermarket which they just outsource from several different factories in China, which are just rebranded products from factories in China with laser printing of their Aisin brand on the product instead of the original marking which should be part of the factory mold or embossed.
Kayaba or KYB naman yung mga suspension parts nila like ball joint, tie rod end, rack end and stabilizer link 100% outsourced from a completely independent Taiwan manufacturer that is not related nor part of the KYB Corporation, bali KYB suspension parts are just a rebranded Taiwan manufacturer's products ng suspension parts na minarkahan lang ng KYB branding and packaged under KYB design packaging.
Literally if you are going to buy Aisin or KYB other products they are just literally rebranded products made by other independent manufacturers from China or Taiwan, with just the logo or brand name ng Aisin or KYB.

I see two possibilities...
1. Aisin/KYB has factories in China OR they have a working partnership with factories in China to manufacture parts on their behalf, while still adhering to their specs and QA
2. Somebody is manufacturing counterfeit Aisin/KYB parts
The question now is, are those legitimate Aisin or KYB products that were made in China inherently bad?

February 5th, 2025 01:26 PM #195Norms na to ng mga Jap companies to cut cost.
Ready to operate na yung mga Chinese/Taiwanese factories to create the products on their behalf.
They just have to adhere to their quality standards so that the output they produce will be counted as bayad ng Aisin/KYB.
If fail, not counted yun sa bill nila.
Question nalang nito is that, etong nag fail ng QA, hindi ba nila binibenta to to the third party at fraction of the cost?
And then these 3rd parties sell these parts as OEM?
Eto yata yung mga OEM daw pero fake pala once mag fail early.
