January 23rd, 2013 07:17 AM #51Hi dvldoc. having a larger dump pipe in ordinary turbos is pretty effective but have to heard of anything about large dump pipes with vgts - both electronic and mechanical?

Plenty of Navara's running around with them. The dump pipe is to move more flow, less back pressure equals cooler EGT's and more power.

Is that an engine operating hours meter? How much did that set you back? Sounds like something we might want on our ambulances. Our GM ambulance has it, but our regular local ones don't.

with a downpipe you will get more midrange and top end power.
As far as the ranger goes, high flow filter and if popossible a manual boost controller. chipping or alcohol injection would be next step. the fuel controller I posted would ler u add a good bit of power butbu need a boost and egt gauge.
hour meter is a Nordskog like my old. boosr guage and my current volt meter its for marine use so its heavy duty got it on ebay for 25usd.

This is the hour meter I have. They don't make them any more though, Nodskog is out of business did make some great gauges.

I like having a hour meter because you know the total running time of your vehicle and not just how many kilometers especially if you spend a lot of time idling in a diesel and affect your maintenance schedule. If you live in Manila you spend a lot of time standing still.

I'll have Turbo smart boost controllers if anyone needs any next month. It's a good first mod.
