Is it better to get Toyota's synthetic oil an 654/L but every 10,000kms and change interval, rather than the regular one na every 5k kms?

Much better to use conventional oil and replace it every 5k kms or 6 months. Sa fully synth, you still have to replace the oil filter.

We change the oil not to really change it just bcoz it loses viscosity and effectiveness, we remove dirt.

The only way to figure out if you can do extended OCI is to do a UOA. Otherwise, 6-month oil changes would be considered safe.

I have my EGR blocked off so I have decided to stick to an OCI of 12 months or 10k, whichever comes first. Oil filter is still changed plus oil top-up every 6 months.

I think it depends sa sasakyan.

Sa Swift natin, it's .5-1 liter.

Please try ardeca lubricants we have sx 5w30 sn na api nya. best for gasoline fully synthetic 210 per liter lang made in belgium. For diesel naman fully synthetic protec ultra 5w40 cj-4 na api rating nya. We have manila in davao.

hx7 is only a 10w40.

go for 5w30 mitasu gold(api-sn & dexos1) or 5w30 platinum(a3/b4 ..heavy duty stuff)

if you want royal purple, 5w30 API (like mitasu gold) or their 5w30 HPS(acea a3/b4.. like the mitasu platinum )

Thanks sa mgs input sir. Shell hx7 is 5w-40 po pala when i checked it kanina sa station nila. Semi-synth sya. I used their hx5 (yellow bottle), mineral oil and change it every 5,000 kms. Same engine and will di the same practice with hx7 this time considering the traffic conditions and idle time spent everyday due to traffic.

no need for the 40w.. its a small displacement engine designed with 0w20. a 5w30 is already heavy for this mivec engine.

sir *StockEngine, hindi ba masyadong malabnaw/manipis yung 0w-20 para sa mirage G4? kasi nakalagay sa manual for mineral is 15w-40 and for synthetic is 5w-40. sorry confused ako but thanks sa input ;)

0w20 is thin but it will still have good film strength. but im suggesting 5w30. sure you can use a 40weight but thats for bigger engines or heavy duty use..

feedback ng mirage owners? based on what? gut feeling? napa- oil analysis ba sila?

that's exactly the problem w/ "recommendations". all based on conjecture coz i'm no expert, you're not an expert either. so just follow your manufacturer's recommendation. my car says 10,000kms / 6-months, mineral oil OK (normal schedule, not severe). so i just follow that

simple
