That is good, then, bro....
However, it is still my recommendation to have it blanked/blocked.... I did, about a year ago, in one of our rides (diesel), and have so far not regretted it....
In return,- I planted about 10 shrubs/small trees in our garden (to appease mother nature)....

Bro.,- in my limited experience with our ride, turbo-charged intercooler variant, the drive feel is a lot better than stock,- as in almost unnoticeable turbo lag,- as the exhaust gas is now directed towards the turbine....

Block/blank your EGR immediately, it will be benificial to your engine. The only negative side is the emmision of NoX in your exhaust, just that, no more. in fact I just blank my 2014 Monty M/T EGR at 1,545 kms. results are evident just right after starting the engine, fine idle, no black smoke most especially no check engine light
Thanks to all the posts and suggestions regarding EGR blanking.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
I'm torn kase sabe ng pinsan kong chief mechanic sa Dubai wag ko daw ipa blank EGR hanggat hindi need or alam naman daw yun ng mechanic sa casa. Hay :'(
The casa philosophy is always to go back to factory specs. They frown upon any modification. That's how they also see the other mods we do like lifted suspensions, reinforced components, etc. on our work vehicles.
In the end, its still the owner that decides![]()

Actually, the EGR (& DPF, if installed) are requirements to address the emissions of our cars, depending on the euro standard classification of the country (I think PHL is Euro 3). The EGR increases the acidity of the oil, hence the need for CI-4 rated oils with high TBN. Deleting the EGR, aside from decreasing the smoke fumes, has added benefit of decreasing acidity of the engine oil & adding to the durability of the engine. You can just Google EGR & know more about the tech details.
is EGR beneficial ba talaga?
eh why did the engineers place it there kung i blank/disable lang natin? is the fuel class of PH the culprit? (i know there are two kinds of diesel in the PH, one not so clean for jeepneys and mechanical diesel and the expensive (v-power sa shell kung tawagin) clean one for CRDI's)
If you Google it, you'd see that every few years or so, there are requirements for car manufacturers to decrease the emissions of exhaust of vehicles hence, you have the Euro standards. They installed the DPF to decrease soot, the catalytic converter for other emissions & the EGR to decrease Nitrox gases of diesel fuel. Not all cars have the DPF, so the EGR increases the soot in the emission & acids in the oil due to sulfur in fuel being recirculated back into the intake.
EGR is for emissions compliance. Since our local regulations don't call for it, we can do what we want. Land Rover used to sell non-EGR (factory disabled) Defenders in what referred to as 'non legislative' markets![]()

DENR requires euro2/ii n grams per kilometer co/nox before they could issue a certificate of compliance for any manufacturers to sell/register a new vehicle.. Euro2 emission could be achieved using EGR. Fuel injection using rail pressure plus cat plus swirling plus DPF and many more techniques further improves emission..
Yep. And local equipment cannot sniff for NOx. It only tests for opacity so its pretty easy to pass even with a disabled or blocked egr.![]()

Other non required equipment are also installed on local units for added content and value, not to pass regulations. Stuff like 2.5mph crash bumpers, isofix seat mounts, etc.![]()

Pareho lang na diesel yan. Both use the same base fuel. Additives lang pinagkaiba. V-Power/Turbo Diesel isn't inherently cleaner than FuelSave/Dieselmax. The former just has better additives with more detergency which improves performance on some vehicles.
Heck, yung Euro 4 nga na Unioil na tuwang tuwa kayo, yun din yung same fuel na binibenta sa ibang independent stations. Unioil doesn't differentiate the fuel from their retail stations with the one they sell to generics via their wholesalers/distributors.
