Putting Diesel into Gasoline

Now, let's look at the reverse – you’re mixing a higher flash, heavier fuel into a base fuel (gasoline) that’s lighter, more volatile and burns at a much lower flash temperature. Despite these differences, putting diesel into gasoline won’t cause nearly as many problems as the reverse.

The biggest concern is the reduction in octane. Thinking about how gasoline burns in an engine, octane rating is the measurement of gasoline’s ability to ignite at the right time – not too early. Gasoline with lower octane rating will ignite too quickly once it is injected into the chamber. The gasoline ignite and explodes, but the piston is still on its way up and the resulting pressure wave collision gives you (at best) a knocking sound and (at worst) damage to the piston and rod. In a sense, octane slows down combustion, it delays it.

Gasoline needs to have an octane rating of 87-91 to fit today’s car engines. Diesel fuel has an octane rating of 25-40. Mixing 2% diesel fuel into gasoline will lower the overall octane rating by 1 point. Getting 10% diesel contamination lowers octane by 5 points, which is enough to create problems in most engines. The octane depression rises linearly with increasing percentages of diesel fuel in the gasoline.

So higher levels of diesel contamination will damage the engine and give you blown pistons and cracked heads. More moderate diesel contamination will give you dirty combustion and can damage the engine over time if something isn’t done.

So you put 150 worth of diesel or 4.5 liters, if your tank is 45 liters, that's a 10% mix, I would assume your tank is almost empty and you just placed 150 kesos para mabilis at enough na ito para umabot pauwi. You can make the solution more gasoline than diesel by adding more gasoline

After you believe the unpure gasoline is all spent, have the spark plugs replaced

There shouldn't be a major damage from the accidental wrong fuel as you have stated there was no JND - just noticeable difference

If it bothers you, drain the contaminated fuel by running the fuel pump direct to power and collect the fuel at the fuel filter fitting or the most convenient location into a suitable container.

Would it be easily noticeable? Mga 4-5liters of diesel nakargatpos 1/4 lamang ng fuel ko nun. Drinive ko papnta ko kagabi for 3kms, tapos pgkagcng pauwi ng mga 5. No jitters pero lag sa acceleration yun mga na notice ko

So kahapon gabi sobrang tired kona at nagpa gas ako sa shell ng unleaded worth 200. When i was about to pay, nakta ko ibang pump nozzle binalik yung kulay itim which is shell fuelsave diesel instead of the green na fuelsave unleaded. Ang tanong ko is bka naghaluccinate lng ako kagabi sa sobrang pagod kya akalain ko diesel nilagay. As of now hnd nmn nag stutter ung engine still runs fine bka kasi konti lng pina gas kong diesel or dapat ma notice ko agad difference? And magkakasya ba nozzle ng diesel sa gas engine? Ang alam ko mas malaki daw ung diesel kya kng ganun hnd magkakasya sakin un.

I believe hindi niya kinuha kagabi ang receipt.

On the other hand, if it's not too far from you why not go back to the gas station and check the pump itself?
