    Need your expert advice po. I recently bought a Foton Blizzard pick-up with 2.8L NA 4JB1 engine.
    My experience as of the moment is steering wheel, pedals & shift knob vibrations during idle. My first diagnosis is cheap engine mounts and transmission mounts. Worry ko lang po kung masosolve nito ung vibrations na na-e-experience ko ngaun kung papalitan ko ung mga mounts. I don't know if vibration will be corrected by replacing engine mounts. I've never worked on a Foton. Btw, check the exhaust pipe if it has rubber isolator hangers.

    My next concern is the loud engine noise na pasok sa loob ng cabin and parang nagp-produce pa siya ng low frequency noise na in long drives eh irritating na masyado. Any advice po to reduce the engine noise? Was planning to install sound deadeners sa hood and sa loob ng cabin to reduce noises. Install padding on the engine firewall if none. Retard engine timing by 1 or 2 degrees. It might reduce combustion noise.

    Any advice po regarding my concerns will be greatly appreciated po.

    Sir Dieseldude,

    I came across a thread about adding 2t oil on diesel fuel and an amazing positive outcome from users particularly old model diesel vehicles. Even CRDI owners uses this motorcycle oil on their fuel system.
    Being a diesel expert, can we have your thoughts on this matter? Will there be long term negative effect on the engine or injectors?

    I've heard about this but never tried it yet. A lot of people say it's good. That's as far as I know.

    my ride is 3.5-mo, 3500kms-old kia carens 2.0 crdi vgt.

    pagi1st start sa morning, typical diesel engine ang tunong--dinig mo rattling.. pero as it goes to its operating temp., about almost 1/2- of the guage.. unti unti din tumatahimik.

    gusto ko lang i-clarify ung sabi ng casa sa akin: gun daw talaga diesel engine, kasi daw nagsisimula palang magcirculagte ang oil. tama po ba un?

    or antay ko ang magiging resulta ng 1st pms nito next month (4 mo or 5000kms)

    what's the function of this plug located at the rear of the injection pump? this is where the fuel leaks. mechanic installed another used one (with copper gasket & teflon). still leaks but to a lesser extent.

    Hindi pa ako nakakita ng Carens mag cold start. Pero sa palagay ko, normal ang konting ingay dahil naka advance timing and naka fast idle mode ang engine pag malamig. Hindi ito dahil sa insufficient oil circulation pag malamig.

    This is a breather. Something is wrong inside the pump if this leaks.

    siguro it has something to do na din sa settings ng engine management (ecu).. electronic ang throttle control. will clarify sa casa next month

    gud pm sir i have adventure 2000 diesel . Pr0blem ko is hard starting sa umaga at mausok pg umandar na per0 pg nka 15 mins. tumatakb0 nawawala na. Napa duk0t k0 na din it0 last september. Change fuel,oil,air filter. At timing belt. Napakalibrate k0 na rin ganun pa din. Nkpg change na din aq ng glow plug. . Kc sa umaga after heater k0 kundi k0 pa aapakan ang silinyador ayaw mag start prang ayaw umahon ng diesel. Then pg ng start sya tatapakan k0 pa ng 2 or 3 times tap0s ung idle nya mababa pr0 pg ng2l0y na at ung parang di na mamamatay engine ok na per0 maus0k padin blue and white smoke amuy diesel baho ng us0k. Pro kapag tumakb0 na aq nabuga parin ng us0k den after mga 10 to 15 mins driving wala na ung us0k n0rmal na. Den madali na sya iistart once na tumakb0 na kaya lang may us0k padin once inistart k0 n ult sya f0r few min. Anu kea pr0blem sumskt n ul0 k0. Ok naman sya umandar at manakb0 sa start up at us0k sa c0ld start pr0blem k0.

Then after ma duk0t ganun pa din kea pacalibrate ak0 ,c0mpresi0n test sabi mataas dw aun calibrate linis inject0r n0ozle after nun gumanda na ung hatak ganda na umandar at lumakas hatak nya c0mpare bef0re, per0 sa c0ld starting pr0blem at us0k pg malamig makina andun padin hard start parin.     Heto payo ko:
    1) Check pump to engine timing
    2) Check glow plug system
    3) Measure engine compression while engine is cold
    4) If compression is low, perform engine overhaul.

    Pero sa palagay ko, mahina na ang compression ng engine.

    Dalawa ang gumawa sa makina mo: yung nag overhaul ng engine chaka yung nag calibrate ng pump. Wala ba silang maipayo sayo sa next step na dapat gawin?

    1) Ginawa mo ba yung una kong mga suggestion, lalo na yung compression test sa cold engine?

    2) Kung mababa ang compression, hindi okay ang pagka overhaul.

    3) Pa recheck mo din ang calibration ng pump sa authorized service center para maka sigurado ka.

    Very good.

    Shempre, may epekto ang timimg change, retard or advance......depende kung gaano tayo lumalayo sa standard specs.
