Congratulations on your great informative site. It's my first time to post here.

Which is a better diesel engine oil for use with my diesel Land Cruiser 100? I plan to use mineral oil since I change the oil every 3,000 kms.

    1. Caltex Delo Gold Multigrade 15W-40 API CH-4/SJ/ACEA E3

    2. Castrol GTD 15W-40 API CH-4

    3. Shell Rimula X 15W-40 API CH4/ACEA E3

    4. Petron Rev-X Trekker 15W-40 API CH-4/ACEA E5

    5. Sea Oil Deo Turbo Max 15W-40 API CI-4/SL/ACEA E5

    6. Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40 API CH-4/SJ/ACEA E3

Your comments are highly appreciated. Thank you.

the higher the API rating, the better. Petron's Rev-x All-terrain is fully synthetic, though priced like mineral oils.

    roydok,
Is that your post or a quote from someone else's query? I know you're an informed "oil spec" guy.

    jackaroo,

The post did not came from me. I guess there may be a computer glitch or something when someone has posted. Just look at my no. of posts and it's 1477. The original poster is also 1477. My current post right now if I'm the original author should be 1478. I already informed the webmaster about it. Anyway the question is still very valid.

I'm sorry roydok but I'm the original poster. I guess it maybe a server error. Thanks for all your comments.

    lancelot,

Iyan po ang sinabi sa akin ng isang Mitsu service adviser. If you will use their Mitsu Turbo XP synthetic oil ay every 10k na palit ng oil pero every 5k palit oil filter.

Generally mas matagal talaga life ng synthetic compared to mineral since it resists degadation better than mineral. The only downside is the cost. If you can afford it then the better. If not then mineral oil with a regular oil change every 5k will do.
