Just use the Shell Helix Diesel Super or the Mobil Super XHP. Any of them mets the requirements ot Nissan for your Patrol.
I have emailed SeaOil regarding the technical specs of their CI-4 oil. I'll post the data once they replied. So far the Frontier 4x4 of my brother runs smoothly with the new oil. We also tried the oil in our Trooper.
For discussion's sake:
Diesel engines produce more carbon, soot than gasoline engines by their design. Their oils too are different since diesel oils have to contain the abrasive carbon til it reaches the filter- thus more detergents in diesel oils.
So why would a new nissan engine (with common rail, EGR) specify a lower API rating to the point of using oils primarily designed for gas engines? The TBN in gas oils are much lower, therefore easily depleted when used with high sulfur diesel fuels. The lack of TBN would lead to higher acidity in the oil which could lead to a shorter engine life.
On oil prices:
It's possible that Shell Helix diesel was first designed as a gasoline oil then broadly priced as a diesel too- but only spec'd at CF. The Rimula line was meant for diesels and priced as one.
Tingin ko kaya CF requirement ng Patrol ay dahil sa high sulfur content ng diesel fuels natin to counteract the high acids that come with it. They may rvise it with the lowering of the sulfur by Nov.
Delo Gold is P200 kung per liter, pero baka mas mura yung 1 gallon na (4 liters) ang laman, gud na ito sa pa change oil mo. 4 liters lang nid nang crosswind.
