The online Baldwin seller now only sells filters if you get Royal Purple oil from him too. Package deal kumbaga. It kinda makes sense to me because I follow a 6-month OCI using Delo Gold Ultra on our daily driven Vios. Royal Purple should be good for 1 year.
DGU
900 oil + 300 filter + 300 labor = 1500 x 2 = 3000
Royal Purple
2200 oil + 300 filter + 300 labor = 2800

just checked my odometer and maintenance record, lampas na pala ako sa 5k km....
will change the oil this weekend. most likely same brand of oil again.
Ano ba talaga real life experience niyo sa Baldwin filter vs Vic vs OEM?
Baldwin nilagay ko last weekend sa isang kotse. Parang wala naman difference.
If I based it sa review sa net malaki daw talaga difference compare to Vic. But gusto ko malaman saan ba kayo nag based?

kumbaga (good) long term effect brought upon by finer filtration, yadah yadah.....hihihi
Oil Filter Comparison Study - GM Truck Central
Exactly what I was thinking. Lahat tayo either OEM then switch sa Vic after warranty wala naman naging problema sa mga engines.
Kasi iniisip ko kung for long term na mas maganda eh ganun din naman pag Vic gamit hanggang magbenta kotse wala naman problema.
Baka nadala nanaman tayo sa hyped.
Unless Meron mag test sa atin na same cars, same oil then filter lang ang iba tapos after 5k kms compare yun oil.
[emoji847]

Even a roll of toilet paper could be used as an oil filter. If oil is being changed every 5k, there is no or not much difference. Baldwins are desinged for extended use hence, it's better built. This just means Baldwins would stay effective longer. I think there's a discussion about this on the "By-pass Filtration" thread.
I also did not observe any difference on how the engine runs between using a Mitsu filter and a Baldwin. A bigger factor for this, I believe, is the oil being used.
Used oil analysis will definitely answer our curiosity. I'm planning to do this but my next oil change would be around next year.
I did a test for the fuel filter vic vs baldwin. Around 13K kms, the vic have shown probles with fuel delivery. Baldwin can go 20K without problem.
Pero what my practice is, I always replaced filter together with the oil. Kahit fully synthetic pa Yan. I've never change oil without replacing the filter as well.
Alam ko Meron gumagawa na in the middle of certain kilometers either palit oil or filter lang siguro yun mga ganun practice pwede Baldwin.

"The typical OEM or standard replacement oil filter with cellulose fiber media will trap about 97.5 percent of most particles that are 15 to 40 microns in size or larger."
