    My stock OEM battery always had corrosion on it's (+) positive terminal. I just clean it twice a year. It lasted me 4 years before I really had to replace it.

    Corrosion on the terminal post doesn't mean that your battery is going south. KSP lang siya. But it could eat into your terminal clamps making them thinner (less clamping action) than when they were new.

    MF batteries doesn't corrode in the terminals anymore. kaya sobrang ok nga mga MF batts, maintenance free talaga.

    Dati nagtipid ako, bought the usual maintenance full battery kasi almost 1/2 ang difference niya. kept on checking the water level and eventually got tired of doing so as there seems to be no change in the level. Suddenly the battery went kaput. Had it check in my suking battery outlet. Turns out the plates were all dried up...it was within the warranty period but I forgot to check the level before bringing it to the shop. Ended up voiding the warranty and buying a new one, a maintenance free one.

    Kasama ba sa PMS ang battery check? Kung tama ang water level or kung mahina na ang baterya.

    It should be. Because PMS involves checking all vehicle fluid levels (pati washer fluid).

    Kung nag-aasin sa terminal, binubuhusan ko lang ng tubig. hehehe. Ano nga ba dapat nilalagay dun para hindi mag-asin? Vinegar ba? Sorry, I can't remember. Household remedy lang yun.

    Asin = salt

    Salt is any solid precipitate formed when an acid mixes with a base. For example HCl + NaOH --> NaCl (asin). And since batteries have acid, water can act as a base kaya salt will form...otherwise known as asin.

    I've used Motolite Enforcer. Lifespan depends on usage. Expect at least 2 years out of it with proper care.
