So there, I decided to have my 22,500KM PMS in the Casa, and the damage to my wallet is Php9,300. They didn't replace the Air Filter and the Brake Fluid, as they are still "okay". I think the price is somewhat okay, probably worth about 30% less if I have it done elsewhere. But I am kinda hesitant, because I have yet to find another shop that does Haima's.

    Anyway, just sharing.

This is what I discovered when I opened up and removed the plastic valve cover of my 2010 Haima Freema ....

A REAL, GENUINE MAZDA ENGINE... Mazda brand is clearly embossed on upper right hand side of aluminum valve cover...hehehe... further proof that the 1st gen Haima Freema is nothing more than a "rebadged" Mazda Premacy.

I think they had to cover it up to make the engine look newer and more modern (kasi old school generation engine na ito)... saka para matakpan na yung Mazda name with their own Haima logo...

On the upside, parts and servicing outside of the dealer won't be a problem.

It's widely understood the Freema is basically a license-built Premacy. Haima bought all the tooling off of Mazda when they phased the model out.

The engine is the FP-DE, 1.8. It shares a few things with the Lynx FS-DE 2.0 (a few), but it has a shorter stroke, which gives it less displacement and power, but allows it to rev more freely in the upper range.

Some parts should interchange with the Lynx, but you'd need to take it to Banawe to find out.

    -

The Haima S7 or Haima 7 is built on a modified Tribute platform. Some of the suspension may carry right over. The engine, however, is not the same as in the 2.0 Escape/Tribute... I think it's more likely an MZR, but modified, as it has a little more power than the MZR (and a lot more than the clunker in the early Escapes...).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Bro kamusta ownership experience with the Haima so far? Is it proving to be a better car than the Tribute/Escape?

I am not sure if its a better car than the tribute/escape, as I didn't own any of the two before, but I can say also, that the Tribute/Escape are only better, relative to the price, just based on a 2003 and 2008 Escapes I drove before..

But I have no problems with it. I am actually really considering getting another Haima car.

Well, update. Hmm.. Merong isang nag-loosen na switch ng mga power windows sa may driver side, yung para sa front passenger window. Umaandar pa naman, pero parang matatanggal or something. Ayun, parang nagkaroon din sya ng auto-up and down. ehehe!

Casa said they could replace it, but the whole assembly, and it will cost around 2K ata, IIRC.

Mazda Philippines warns Haima sellers | TopGear.com.ph

Apparently some Haima sales agent is using Mazda to entice people to buy the clone

Of course Mazda PH warned them...

Parang di naman ata connected sa Haima yang nagpost. ehehe!

Anyway, they would use it of course, the Mazda connection, kelangan nila ng brand recognition.

I would also read the comments after reading the article though.

Misleading po kase ang posting ng seller. nakakahiya naman sa Berjaya..

Yes, Mazda is connected sa pagbuo ng name ng Haima but that is history. Di na mababago yun. Haima is creating its own name with its features, function and performance.

Yun pong nag post HINDI po galing sa ahente ng Haima dealer. Re-seller po at yun ang lininaw in respect to Mazda Phils.
