    Hi Guys!

Just purchased a second-hand 2010 Haima Freema A/T SDX7 MPV (1st gen)... VERY HAPPY with the vehicle. Have all leather seats (7-seater with the 3rd row jump seats), a big sunroof, all power features/amenities, and of course, a matic tranny (made my wife happy). Swerte rin since this was a bank repo unit... had only 4,471 kms low mileage on it when I got it (good as brand new), this was the deciding factor for me, plus I needed a wagon for my growing family of 2 kids and my 1-year old baby (Graco stroller pa lang puno na trunk lalo na kapag sedan). Hindi naman po ako mayaman, can't afford to buy brand new or spare some money for a branded slightly used 2nd hand, and definitely I don't want to buy a decade old vehicle na mas maraming problems na lalabas (believe me when I say this, because I have lots of experience with cars).

Being a small time used car dealer for several years now and also being in the car industry for so long (have also worked for Honda Cars Philippines way back then), I have driven/owned/acquired/tested almost all brands already from Japanese, German, Korean, American, and recently Chinese (Foton). I must say, comparing Foton with Haima is like comparing apples to oranges. Sa mga Foton View and Blizzard units ko, ok naman in general, pero yung fit and finish sometimes ang sablay (like hindi lapat ang glove box and tool box compartment cover) pero with my Freema, I can say its a very superior quality vehicle. Inside and out, especially the dashboard, door panels, leather seats, etc... you can almost say its a real Japanese Mazda Premacy (the first gen Haima Freema is in fact a "rebadged" Mazda Premacy). What I really like is that since Haima (known as Hainan-Mazda) used to build these for Mazda for so many years, that when they became an independent company (Haima), this particular model was not "re-engineered" or facelifted anymore (unlike the Haima Family or Haima 2 and 3 units). Literally, badge or brand name lang ipinalit. Kahit check mo pics ng 1999-2004 Mazda Premacy, 99% identical except for the badge (and taillight design sometimes, pero may Premacy din na late model na kaparehas ng Freema). Mas superior lang yung Freema in terms of Leather Seats, Sunroof and other amenities like 7-seater na parehas sa JDM Premacy na wala sa Euro Premacy (sold in UK and other european countries).

Also, had the Freema serviced right after I got it (outside casa)... since matagal ito na-stock sa warehouse ng bangko (wala pa siguro one-year old nahatak na ito pero since mataas gusto price ng bank, nagtatagal ng taon bago nila ibagsak ng husto yung price). Madali lang na general cleaning yung aircon system and evaporator... comment nga ng suki kong electrical shop and aircon shop, "Sir, yung aircon compressor, evaporator ninyo sakto sa Ford Lynx/Mazda Familia, pati alternator parehas". I just smiled. Alam ko na yun before I bought the vehicle, did all my research on Haima on the Internet, including this thread/forum. No problem with servicing and parts then, mechanically speaking. Saka I've had a 2001 Ford Lynx Ghia before (with the Sunroof)... i must say, this 1st gen Freema is EXACTLY like buying a Lynx that is enlarged to Kia Carens dimensions/size. This is a plus for loyal Ford Lynx fans who need a bigger vehicle for the family (like me). It really drives, looks, and feels like a Ford Lynx/Mazda Familia. Tama mga positive review ni sir Niky of Bigbigcar website regarding the Haima 3 and Freema. Spot on.

I believe that was a 2012 model... yung second gen Freema na... feeling ko mas konti na yung Mazda content and engineering nun compared to the first gen. Pero feeling lang ha. Saka CVT transmission talaga marami pwede maging problema, at HINDI lang sa Haima, kahit Honda City at Mitsu Lancer, basta CVT sometimes may lemon talaga. Yes, marami magsasabi against the Haima brand being a Chinese car, pero all I can say is this: our family owned a 2006 Toyota Hiace Commuter D4D, and nagkaproblema agad sa computer box and CRDi system within its first year of ownership. Alaga saka casa maintained. My friend's brand new Vios also had a engine compression leak problem, resulting to change engine. Also alaga and casa maintained. Our 2010 Grand Starex before developed an oil leak within its first year. IN SHORT, marami naysayers at mga mayabang na magsasabi at magaantay masira mga Haima natin just to say "kasi yan binili mo at hindi Toyota or Honda"... all I can say is that is B.S. because lahat ng naging kotse namin na Japanese at Korean, nagkakaproblema na MAJOR din, hindi lang minor.

I have kept an open mind with Haima (I'm glad I did), and now I'm one VERY HAPPY owner. LAHAT po ng nakakakita ng Freema ko (from neighbors to relatives and friends) napapabilib sa quality and wala halos mapintas. Nagagandahan po talaga. Hehe. Money well spent (kahit 2nd hand).

So far so good. NO rattles, VERY solid ride inside and out, SMOOTH engine and transmission, COLD aircon, etc. Just like buying a Japanese car. Maybe too early to tell because of the low mileage, but im not a dummy in terms of getting a general feel of the vehicle because of my car-industry background. Malayo sa mga naging Foton vehicles ko. Pero, yung lang siguro napansin ko... sa Haima 3, Family, later-model Freema, 2 and 7 models, mostly re-engineered na and hindi "rebadged" kaya notice ko parang mas maraming leftover Mazda parts ginamit sa first gen Freema... which explains the high-level of quality (inabutan pa sigurado nito yung mga Japan-trained Haima engineers, since as ive said, they've been building the 1st gen Freema for years na). Iba rin kasi usapan kapag second-hand. You don't get hit by the huge depreciation (especially for Chinese cars, mataas depreciation for the first 2 years), pero nagiging value-for-money for budget-conscious 2nd hand buyers.

Yun lang po. JUST SHARING. Sana dumami pa nga Haima owners (whether new or used)... and more dealers please especially in QC/Manila area! Hehe.

Share ko din pics of my ride:

Thanks for viewing... sorry medyo mahaba kuwento... talagang happy and excited lang po ako. Hehehe.

do you mean fuel consumption... 1 week pa lang yung Freema sa akin pero based on full tank to full tank nag-aaverage siya ng 7.5 km/liter... pure City driving... light to moderate traffic with occassional idling (while waiting for parking slot sa mall). Kaya pa siguro mag 8 km/liter or better if I improve my driving style/habits... binibirit ko kasi minsan just to test the acceleration and handling... saka baka mag improve pa consumption pag lagi na itong ginagamit... matagal kasi naka stock itong Freema. Not really a bad fuel consumption since it has big 1.8-liter DOHC engine and an automatic tranny. nagkaroon ako ng 2010 kia rio automatic sedan before, 1.4 liter lang engine nun pero 7 km/liter lang consumption... eh ito wagon pa saka mabigat din gross vehicle weight niya 1860 kgs... malaki/bulky kasi dashboard, and especially seats niya tapos siyempre the sunroof assembly also adds weight. Sometimes a bigger engine can be more fuel efficient.

meron pa naman mga body panels and lights ito sa Haima Philippines for sure, kung walang stock, pwede sila mag order sa main plant sa China... knock on wood ha... sana wag naman masaggi or mabangga... kasi its in "pristine" condition right now.... got it for below 300K all-in kasama maintenance items (change oil, aircon cleaning/servicing, auto detailing, registration renewal, etc.).... hindi na masama... b.new price was 825K (SRP) as per sales invoice... lalo na my biggest consideration is that its a 7-seater and has extremely low mileage of 4,471 kms. Just like buying brand new at about 1/3 the cost. Hehehe. Pwede na di ba? Wala kasi masyadong choice at that price range if you want a vehicle bigger than a sedan with an automatic tranny AND 2010 year model or newer... sawa na din ako sa luma eh

U can call me at 09228808415 for more information and pricing. I can help you if you are interested sa second hand Freema, lalo na may 3 unit pa available doon. Ok na itong ganitong kotse pang pamilya at pang hatid sa school or pang opisina. Or pang coding car ... very spacious, practical, and low profile o hindi mainit sa mata ng carjacker.. hehe ...saka para dumami tayong naka Freema...

I was able to sell my old car for a good price so konti lang idinagdag ko ... too good a deal to pass up

Try ninyo rin... mas maganda kung near the logo or emblem... Haima kasi is prohibited from using the Mazda name sa product itself pero tayo kasi end user na so we can do what we want. Hainan-Mazda. Mas beneficial for us if we can educate others about the brand. It generates more interest and again, credibility. Minsan hirap mag explain. People will always approach and ask.

Merong akong nakitang 2012 Haima 7 m/t sa bangko 7,000 + km lang mileage color black with beige leather interior, it can be had for 400k only.

On the average most commercial banks have anywhere from 200-500 units of repossessed cars (a bank official told me only around 5-10% of car loans end up as bad loans). Its not uncommon to have many units of the same brand/model on stock at a certain time. This goes for ALL brands/makes/models.

Shifter cable problem encountered by Lexiconmaster also happens to other brands.... even if you shift the lever to Drive, Reverse or Neutral transmission remains in Park and car wont shift or move.

Example is Ford Focus. Dont know lang if you can view this thread for non-members...

Whats important is that the dealer or manufacturer immediately resolves the issue and replaces the broken part in a timely manner. Inconvenient for us end users but sometimes things like this really happens. Good aftersales support and service goes a long way so Haima Phils and their dealers should honor and uphold any warranty claims. Yun lang gusto ko sa Toyota. Had 200k pesos worth of warranty claims on my mom's Hiave Commuter D4D, pero super asikaso saka lagi palit agad ng problematic parts under warranty. Hindi ka pahihirapan unlike other brands.
