Sabi nga rin sa ibang forums na nabasa ko, pag bago daw. Di ko pa kasi naihataw kasi takot pa ako hehehe. 80kph lang highest ko ginawa. Madalas ko nagagawa kasi is to go about 4K RPM sa Gear 1 pag nabitin ako paakyat at marami sakay.

Sa FC naman, madalang ako gumamit ng aircon kasi malamig recently pero I think bababa to sa summer. Di kasi ako nagbubukas ng bintana.

Thanks. Ang alam ko yung "rustproofing" eh usually free ng Toyota kasi yun ang sabi when I was asking about the Vios. Hindi siya kasama sa freebie ng Haima so I'm assuming wala or baka standard na ginawa sa factory. Clear ba yung "rustproof"? Sabi kasi sa akin, itim daw yung "undercoat" so not sure kung pareho sila.

Yup. May factory rust proofing na po yang mga unit ng Haima sir. It's color black. Yung iba naman clear kaya mukang manipis lang siya.

Thanks for the replies. I looked around and looks like 8K is too expensive.

    Update on FC: 6.5km/l
    Fuel: Xtra Advanced

Still the same fuel from the Pangasinan trip. Nagpafull tank sa La Union so yung unang gamit ay paakyat ng Baguio. I also changed route going to work and back for experimentation - I think that's what contributed to the lower FC. Medyo mas maraming paakyat baba na steep dun sa new route. I'm going back to my usual route when I was getting around 7+ FC.

Just experienced my first major issue yesterday. Not sure how major it is but then if you can't use your car, that's major to me.

So I parked and went to sleep (I work in the evenings so I parked maybe around 9AM - I was too tired that morning that I didn't park where I usually do, I just parked beside the road.). I woke up around 6PM to move the car so I can immediately leave when dressed up. So I turned the engine on and changed the gear but noticed that it's a little "softer" that it used to be. There didn't seem to be that resistance you usually feel especially when shifting from "park". Now I revved and the car wouldn't move. As a newbie on cars this got me nervous so I started asking friends what it could be - as you might know, there could be several potential causes so I got some different helpful replies but couldn't make sense of all of them.

I checked for some light indicators that could potentially point the problem but I didn't see anything saying such on the dash display. However, I noticed that no matter which gear I put it on, the digital indicator stays at "P". This is when I figured the gear wouldn't engage. I texted my SA which I just learned that day has left the company a few days back but was kind enough to provide me the number of the casa mechanic - this was around 7:50PM. I called the mechanic and his response was to get with the manager to see what should be done. I am not aware of the process for roadside assistance but this tells me there could be none because of the need to validate with a manager. A friend came by to assist and made the phone call again to the mechanic - he's a little bit more aggressive than I am, not sure about the full conversation but he got the mechanic to come over.

The mechanic eventually arrived at around 9:00PM, checked some things under the car then on the engine. At this point, I already missed my first important meeting of the day - good thing, I have an understanding boss. Eventually, he went inside the car and opened that "box" where the "kambyo" and the handbrake are located. He was on the driver side and I sat on the passenger side to help by using my phone as flashlight. This process took a while because he is doing more of "kapa" than knowing where the joints and screws exactly are. I was losing hope so I started asking about a towing service they might have to which I couldn't get a direct answer. Again, either they don't have a process for these situations or the employees do not know. Good thing I remember that discussion with Slapz about the Petron card so I looked at the brochure and saw that they have a towing service. I called their number and made some arrangements.

While he was busy removing additional screws, I could already partially see the inside of this box. I saw some sort of a rod that seemed disconnected. I told him about it and we switched places. He played around with that rod that was disconnected, fixed it in position and held it while I attempted to change gears and now I felt that usual resistance and can see the digital display now changing based on the gear I selected. I asked if he can remedy that breakpoint so we can at least drive to the casa (about 8 or 9KM away) which he did. I drove my car and he drove his. It is now about 9:45PM. I got the call from Petron and the kind lady was going to provide me the plate number of the tow truck. I politely informed and thanked her for her efforts but that we won't need it at that time because we found a way to remedy the problem. We arrived at the casa around 10PM. At this point, I missed my second important meeting of the day. I asked if he could drive me to work so he did. I arrived at work and was officially 2 hours late.

I called in the morning to follow-up on what needs to be done to which I was informed they'd need to order parts. As you know, "time" is an important component which he could not provide at that time. I called another SA (who was working with the one who already resigned) and asked for a service car - she said they don't have one. I asked to at least be updated so I know when I can get it. Around 5:10PM today, I received a text that a "shifter cable" has been ordered and expected to arrive tomorrow after lunch. So there's where we're at with this problem.

To conclude, it is Valentine's day tomorrow and my date plan is now in jeopardy so Haima and the Laus Group, I will remember this day. Quoting Roosevelt on his speech after the Pearl Harbor attack - "a date which will live in infamy".

wow, patay na naman ang negosyo ng Haima nito. tsk tsk! that was really unfortunate, that is why, for an unproven brand, I opted for something without too much equipment on it, kaya I settled with the Comfort M/T model, and also, because of a story of a Haima Freema A/T having problems as well.

Fortunately, you weren't driving nung nangyari yan. Putol ata ang shifter cable? Dammit, paano nalang kung nasa zigzag zigzag ka sa baguio, at nangyari yan?

Well, hopefully they would resolve the issue accordingly, and as soon as they can, this will definitely ruin their business. But this would definitely shy away potential customers already. Chinese cars are always under the microscope, so isang issue lang, laki ng effect.

    few queries:

ala bang road side assistance talaga yung haima sa any models nila?

don't you have insurance... usually the insurance also provides 24/7 road side assistance which usually includes towing.

in my experience 2 ang road side assistance one provided by the case during the span of the warranty of the car and 2nd is the insurance road assistance provided and effective during the terms of the policy.

the at of haima is not as complicated as of ford's dct system hence they should have perfected it, guess it is what it is

say thanks to the MAN up there as your g.angels was looking out for you... medyo delikado nga yan kung habang tumatakbo ka nasiraan.

You're right slapz that would have been scary if the car was running. I was just in a very fortunate situation that I was parked.

I asked when I got to the casa and was told that I just need to call them and they'll take care of the towing coordination, etc.

You guys deserve an update. Sorry, I was out of the country last week and just came back. Anyway, let's recall some chain of events.

Wednesday, 2/12/14: Event happened and we eventually were able to bring the car to the casa.
Thursday, 2/13/14: Called them in the morning to ask for a service car, I was told they didn't have one. I also called that same day to ask for updates. Got an update at 5:10PM that a shifter cable has been ordered and is expected to arrive the next day after lunch.
Friday, 2/14/14: Still carless up to this day. 4:20PM, I got an update that the car is still being worked on.
Saturday, 2/15/14: I went to the casa at 8:30AM to check on the car myself. They've disassembled the middle box where the gear shifter is located. I asked that they do their best to complete the work because I need to bring the car home before I leave the country. At 3:30PM, I got a message that the fix has been completed. I didn't get to read the message because I was sleeping. I woke up from a phone call at around 5PM. I went to the casa and got the car at around 5:30PM. Before leaving the casa, I moved the gears multiple times in different locations to ensure it's been fixed. I spent about an hour driving around and changing gears very often (using manual mode) to test it. So far so good.
Sunday, 2/16/14: Went out and drove around again and so far so good.
Monday, 2/17/14: I drove myself to work where my ride to the airport was waiting. I left the car at work that time.

Saturday, 2/22/14: I asked someone to drive the car to Manila with my wife to pick me up from the airport. We drove back to Baguio and arrived at around 2PM. I asked the driver if he noticed anything weird and said he didn't. When we got to Baguio, I drove the car on the way to our house and so far it didn't act up or anything.

So there's where we're at. Not sure when that problem is going to happen again. Apparently the problem was in a rubber bushing on the shifter cable that was broken.

Nice to know that everything is fixed up already sir,. and I sincerely apologized in behalf of Haima Philippines to the problem that happened to you. If, suddenly you noticed something na kakaiba agad sa shifter niyo, dont hesitate na tumawag or dalhin agad sa casa yung unit niyo. I'm sure and confident that anytime tutulungan nila kayo kahit alanganing oras na.

So it was fixed on the second day, that's fast enough, I guess. And you kinda was able to test the customer service of Haima Philippines.

The problem is, hopefully it was carefully and perfectly fixed, you can't help but feel a bit anxious every time you drive it now. Hey, I am not inviting any additional fear, just saying.

But it seems everything is fine now. You should just ask for it to be inspected thoroughly on your next PMS, and it should be free, right Lester?

Yup! It should be free. para lang to be sure na everything is fixed up, have them check it again.
