sa bansang CHINA WUHAN VIRUS, ang EV industry ay:

"The country has become a dominant force in the global EV market, thanks to significant policy support from the government and heavy state subsidies. But a flood of cheap models has raised the specter of another trade war with its Western trading partners."
A trade war is not good for the consumer.

I noticed that the article was back in June 2024. The stock price was around 60 then. Went up to around 80 in October and is now around 68. He is not the Oracle of Omaha for nothing.

    I'll rephrase:

Good for us consumers here in the Philippines.

We don't have a local car industry/mfg to protect, so no sanctions on China cars will happen. And the lower selling price of China cars due to govt subsidies is benefiting us.

Only while TRAIN and EVIDA tax breaks last though. Our normal taxes are so high we don't need any trade war to get trade war pricing.

All imported cars are affected by the high taxes, at least after TRAIN and EVIDA. Unless China cars will be imposed with specific tariffs, they’ll still come out way cheaper.

We should tax the very rich a helluva lot more.

But first, NEDA needs to redefine their income levels (A-B-C-D-E). There needs to be an A+ or A++ tier. IIRC, your household is considered "rich" if your monthly income is 220k a month, which seems low in 2024.

Dapat yung mga at least P400K a month ang rich. Then may middle rich and upper rich plsu the ultra rich hehehe

Tsaka depende din sa province/city siguro like HUC and component cities. Definitely may mataas ang cost of living sa HUCs at first class cities/provinces.

The automaker was able to secure approval for an upcoming light-duty vehicle that comes with a 1497cc gasoline-powered engine. More interestingly, the vehicle will also benefit from two electric motors; the front makes 170 kW or 231 PS while the rear puts out 150 kW or 204 PS. Last but not least, the light-duty vehicle has a reference weight of 2710 kg.

After cross-checking the numbers, it looks like we might say hello soon to the BYD Shark 6 pickup truck.

Here’s what you get with the BYD Seal Advanced | Visor

This version is called the Seal Advanced. It is the two-wheel-drive variation of the Seal Performance. As expected, performance numbers take a substantial nosedive. Instead of 522hp and 670Nm, the Advanced gets by with 201hp and 310Nm. The sprint to 100km/h also takes almost twice as long at 7.5 seconds instead of 3.8 seconds.
BYD is pricing the Seal Advanced at P1,998,000—P550,000 less than the Seal Performance.

All BYD-branded cars will receive the most basic system called God’s Eye C, where the suite relies on 12 cameras (3 front-view, 5 panoramic, 4 surround-view) and 17 different radar sensors.

Meanwhile, God’s Eye B adds a LIDAR sensor and poses as a more advanced system for high-end BYD vehicles, as well as those under the Denza and Fang Cheng Bao sub-brand. Lastly, the God’s Eye A serves as the flagship ADAS suite of BYD that has self-driving capabilities. God’s Eye A will be used by models under the Yangwang brand that includes the U9 supercar.

Either this year or next, I would be buying a new car. So far, I am torn between the BYD Sealion 6 and the eMax 7. I know SL6 is a hybrid, while the eMax 7 is a pure EV. My concern is that both have low clearances. Would they be able to handle the usual street humps since our subdivision have those humps?
