BYD recalls almost 100k EVs over fire risk; are PH units affected? | Autoindustriya

BYD has filed a recall that affects a total of 96,714 units, where the Dolphin and Atto 3 (called Yuan Plus in PRC) models are involved.
While both models are being exported by BYD in overseas markets such as the Philippines, we clarified with AC Mobility and they confirmed that Philippine models are not part of the recall.

Seldom ko lang marining na mag issue recalls most chinese car companies.
Mag issue man pero pumutok na yung issue sa social media.
Or maybe, medyo talamak na yung issue sa China dahil sa sensorship dun.

The base is under a million. PHEV + coding exemption for a modern car under a million makes it a good first + one-and-only car.

There was already some discussion in another thread about the credibility of China Observer.

BYD's actual US$ 13 billion debt disaster is miniscule compared to the hundreds of billion of US$ that US and Jap car companies. Nissan is what a car company with a debt burden looklike...

And China Observer credibility is questionable...

BYD doesn't need to be in the US car market to be world's top dog. US car manufacturers will soon be making on exclusively for the US and Canada car market since they won't be able to sell any cars outside North America...

Both GM and Chrysler became bankrupt and got bailed out in late 2000s. With how other modern asian brands are currently growing, looks like it's bound to happen again sometime later. This time with Ford too.

there must be something more than the "buy low, sell high" reason here .... Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway dumps BYD shares following rise in trade tension over Chinese EVs | CNN Business

sa bansang CHINA WUHAN VIRUS, ang EV industry ay:

"The country has become a dominant force in the global EV market, thanks to significant policy support from the government and heavy state subsidies. But a flood of cheap models has raised the specter of another trade war with its Western trading partners."
