August 6th, 2018 07:10 AM #54Just to verify some stuff mates, so we can give credit where credit is due as well as treat the case fairly.
I have the same dipstick that you have in the picture bro, the one of the left side, the shorter one. Was it changed for the one on the right side, the longer one?
1- If the dipstick was shorter and it required a change, does that mean you were over filling your engine with oil?
2- If, supposedly, we are over filling our engine with oil, then why on earth when checking with that same dipstick there is no oil decrease? Hitting always the same mark as full, never went down?
3- Picture for the oil cap is blurred mate, it was changed for what? From 5W-30 to 5W-40?
Monitor it man with the longer dipstick, the one that the CASA recommended, and check your marks so you can monitor if it burns oil. That's the only way you can make sure.
Thanks for the feedback bros.

evidently, both dipstick are of the same full level mark (photo doesn't show its laid total length ) .
consequently, the big difference is their low level mark (approximately 12mm).
thus we are not overfilling it but it's giving me the wrong oil low level mark from the very start i got my unit.
the oil cap was replaced from 5-w30 to 5-w40.
usually after a long and spirited drive, my oil level is showing lower level and that's the time i top up (but not the critical low level).👍

August 6th, 2018 08:34 AM #56Got it mate, so the difference is only in the low level mark, full mark is the same and that's where normal level should goes and monitor it from there.
The weird thing is, I have tried my best to spot that oil consumption issue, been 2 years now, no single attempt was successful. Baguio, Tagaytay, SLEX, NLEX, TPLEX and far more attempts. 3,700 to 4000RMPs with no mercy, pedal to the metal, in different weather, slippery, rains, typhoons and insane hot temperature during the year.
No single attempt showed even one drop decrease been over 2 years now. I check my oil level almost everyday in different occasions and places. Leveled surfaces with hot, warm, cold engine and it's always on Full Mark.
Something that caught my attention heavily on it, since all my former Fortuners and Monteros was oil burners, especially my Fortuners.

am assuming your tbz model is 2016. were you putting the dexos 2 5-w40 oil grade?
most of the time i'm using the less viscous 5-w30 dexos2 oil grade prior to my last pms.
currently, no level change is noted after logging almost 2k kms this time with the 5-w40 dexos2 oil grade.
