August 9th, 2018 12:48 AM #761Quart every 3 months is huge mate, I wouldn't leave it without further investigation if I were you, at least for fun.
If you don't mind my questions, please let us know some information .
1- How was your Break-In period? If you are the first owner.
2- What's your driving style? City and Highway and your RPMs sweet spot?
3- Turbo is in good shape? Bearings, Turbine and Seals?
4- Any black/blue exhaust smoke while idling? Revving? In what scenarios if ever?
5- Does your vehicle shift properly or it struggles/shudders when shifting?
6- Any oil leak somewhere?
7- Engine temperature? Any sudden surges?
8- Coolant life and level?
9- Any Radiator/Fans issue?
Thanks in advance .

August 9th, 2018 01:30 PM #78I will have to revalidate myself that 1 quart per quarter closely. I plan to do a change oil this week. By the way, I bought my GM Dexos 2 oil and AC Delco oil filter from Lightning Automotive in Mandaluyong which is owned by Thunder Auto too. After that i will closely monitor my consumption so that I can conclude and share it here.
1- How was your Break-In period? If you are the first owner.
Never experienced issues during my Break in period. I enjoyed its power and torque and the fuel efficiency closed to my Gen 1 Montero which i flipped to buy this LT.
2- What's your driving style? City and Highway and your RPMs sweet spot?
LT is a daily drive. Its case is thick and I feel secure using it. It is “macho” in my eyes and like driving it. Sweet spot probably in the 3krpm. I dont drive it too fast. I have other vehicles in my garage apt for spirited driving.
3- Turbo is in good shape? Bearings, Turbine and Seals?
I think so. I dont see any leaks anywhere and i dont experience any weird revs or sounds.
4- Any black/blue exhaust smoke while idling? Revving? In what scenarios if ever? None that I have experienced.
5- Does your vehicle shift properly or it struggles/shudders when shifting?
Shifts smoothly
6- Any oil leak somewhere? I havent seen any
7- Engine temperature? Any sudden surges?
This engine is cool. Always before midpoint of the temp gauge.
8- Coolant life and level?
Coolant is half full. Have not tapped it up lately.
9- Any Radiator/Fans issue? None.
Overall, i still like this vehicle. Perhaps it will stay for another year before disposing it. Not much available options in the market to flip this to chase another midsize SUV like this.

August 9th, 2018 11:10 PM #79StockEngine. We are just trying to gather some information bro that may help others to narrow it down further.
vgsison. Thanks for the informative reply mate.
If the coolant life is old then let's flush it instead of topping then make sure it's at full mark all the time. Low coolant will increase engine's temperature and may cook the oil, which will cause oil consumption.
Try decreasing your RPMs as well bro if it's your daily, in the city you don't need more than 1.5 to 2K top, that's where your torque resides. On a highway, 2.5K top or higher if you prefer but not for long periods, gradually and not by a sudden pinch to the pedal. Don't make the shift hanging on a cliff as well, aka if the speed you wanna cruise over is 100Kph then it would better be in the start of a shift not the end of a shift, that's the start of your 6Th gear already. Use the pedal like climbing stairs and never slam it like you are drag racing.
Would be great if with new fluid (Oil/Coolant). A clean air filter if not due yet to be changed, an air brush would do it but without damaging the filter.
Monitor it yourself mate and give us your feedback, avoid the driver for now because they usually drive cars like they stole it .

August 10th, 2018 09:51 AM #80Thanks for all the suggestions Mate.
My unit has about 45k in its odo. Do u suggest change in fluids already needed? Who can do fluid flushing if ever?
Since our TB is rubber belt type, i plan to replace the timing belt kits. Thunder quoted me at 13800 for full kit. My next issue is who can competently change it for me, that is as competent as casa without the exorbitant service charge.
My oil change is ongoing now. My trusted neighborhood mechanic is doing it for me. Who can instruct me the procedure for resetting the perform engine oil notification. Or probably i will just look it up in the internet.
