The review of the Optra by C! Magazine was ok. Rebadged Daewoo but it's made in Thailand. Are we seeing the influx of Korean designed cars with better quality?
Get value for money. Lynx is one of those.
Of course, there's the old reliable - Toyota.
That GM/Daewoo thingy is untested here in
terms of after-sales support...
from latest survey it came third best selling in the 1.6l segment;
other threads suggest its air bags dont deploy on impact;
mura viz-a-viz lnyx, altis, civic, matrix;
features inferior than lynx;
made in thailand which is gaining bad exposure due to inferior quality builts even for other brands (i.e., spare tire rims & a/t gearbox problems for vios);
Optra the only car that the stereo is still running without the key...hehehe.Isa na yan sa mga defects ng Optra namin...
Second nung kakalabas lang sa casa may nakita kaming defect sa rim namin at tire hindi na pinalitan.They just told us that the insurance will take care of it.Im hoping nothing comes after these defects.
sabi nila the radio thing is not a defect, they intentionally designed it as such because sometimes people waiting in the car would want to listen to the radio with engine off. turning the key to Acc On would also activate the other electronic gadgets (and theere's a lot of these gadbets daw) - fuel pump meter or whatever, and would be more energy consuming.
ok naman ang optra! forget the daewoo badge and yung mga dealer naman depende yan sa dealer na pinuntahan mo. ok daw yun sa libis and sa makati pero mabagal service sa makati kasi madami pumupunta dun. it's really a value for money car. resale value lang and cons nito. pero i think its reliable na din naman.
