every 10,000km service check up, same as cruze ang PMS interval, ang FC nya 16km per liter sa highway kung city driving hindi pa confirm, so less maintenance po ang bagong spark natin

hahaha..mukhang desperado ung salesman ah...hahaha.. i own a chevy spark . and FC niya is 21km/L... for eaxmple and experince ko always. magpapa fulltank ako at quezon city after that deretso sa dasma cavite. after that sa lumban laguna. after that balik ulit sa dasma cavite, after that gala unti sa malate(gimik mode)hehehe. after that balik sa quezon city..and hulaan niyo hindi padin gumagalaw gauge niya...hehehe pero kinabukasan going back to dasma cavite pagdating sa EDSA quezon av. dun na gumalaw yung gauge..kaya for long driving yun ang ginagamit ko now instead of my cruze..mahal na gas eh,,, hehehe
On paper its his car. But he got the car for me to use. Never niya naman ginamit mga Optra namin kaya hindi niya alam yung crap engine and Fuel consumption. hahaha
I think 20km/l is really possible for long drives, for city driving about 14-16 would be more realistic. The spark is a small car with a small engine so most likely FC should really be good. Sales people always lie when you ask them for FC figures. Just ask any sales people from any car brand puro BS ang sinasabe when it comes to FC. Usually the realistic figure you will get is half of what the guy says

i think for the small cars category this could really be great car. got myself before a toyota and honda (civic and city) then for my wife now a chevy (optra) i can say that performance, function and quality is ok... they say its expensive but if maintenance cost of cars are almoset the same whether its for my civic or corolla just happened you can buy china taiwan parts for those.. but apples to apples (oem and major brands are the same), consumption maybe a little higher perhaps due to its weight.
i consider the cpark and the fiesta the 2 new hottest car to fight toe to toe.. next perhaps is the celerio... picanto and i10> they are almost the same looks the same and looks cheaper as well. mazda 2? well its the same as fiesta but almost 150k cheaper and better made so choose the fiesta instead..
mitsu, toyota and honda didnt go to this category yet... so definitely its a close fight between the two kids off the block spark vs fiesta
vios, jazz - these are hi end market 1.6 types not the same
Asking again - anyone here actually already made a reservation or purchased a Spark 2011?
Just curious - are there units actually already shipped to Manila, or there's a lead time for delivery as they're not here yet?
27 kms/liter? Do salesmen read their own brand's training material? Even GM only claims 5.1 liters per 100 kms. on the EU cycle, which is less than 20 kms/liter. And that's under the driving conditions and weather of continental Europe.
We have to take what salesmen say with a grain of salt.
Cheers.
Kudos to you, sir! Basically, you have exceeded the claimed FC of the new Spark despite engine technology that is more than a decade old (8 valves!) on a platform that is even older. Fantastic!
Now I'm wondering what FC hyper-mile techniques can achieve in the new Spark. Hmm...better power-to-weight, better aerodynamics (presumably), more efficient fuel system (should be after 10 years), low rolling-resistance tires (most new cars have them now),...
sorry inaantok ata ako nung tinype ko un eto po ung edited paalis na lang mod nung old post ...
For the small cars category the Chevrolet Spark has the potential to be great car. I used to have a toyota and a honda (civic and city), my wife got a chevy (optra). All that I can say is that performance, function and quality is ok... Some may say its maintenance is expensive that's because you can easily buy china or taiwan parts for toyota and mitsubishi, perhaps for some models the honda.. but if we compare apples to apples (oem and major brands) the parts and service for honda and chevy are the same.. or honda even more expensive for major repairs, fuel consumption maybe a little higher but you have to consider the body weight of the car, driving habits and traffic situation in the metro.
The spark and the fiesta are the 2 newest cars to lead the 1.0-1.2L category.. next perhaps is the celerio... far end can be picanto and i10. i wont put in the alto because its a really old model, and chery qq way too unreliable being a chinese car. They have the same looks having the same framework? fiesta and mazda2 are twins masquerading as two separate brands, with fiesta almost 150k cheaper and better made. Now for the spark, its a relatively new model.... its made from the ground up with Chevrolet USA so no one can claim that it is still the old korean crap, as it has been reengineered, plus you can have a car that is a world release car (same as Cruze), thus what US, UK, an JAP have (all specs) are the same as the Philippine Release.
Mitsubishi, Toyota and Honda is not yet entering the 1.0-1.2L category.
Yaris and Jazz are of a different league (1.6L hatch models)
For the budget hatch models...the Spark is a great addition.
