Chevrolet’s all-new subcompact Spark hatchback is coming to the Philippines in February. Actually, the Spark has been previewed extensively before its upcoming official debut. The “aggressive and edgy” (Chevy’s words) should help distinguish this car from the pack, and this includes the hidden rear door handles that make it look like a three-door. Inside, the motorcycle-style instrument panel with “ice-blue” backlighting gives a bit of modern vibe. Engine choices will likely be a 1.0-liter with 68 bhp, or a 1.2-liter with 81 bhp.

It’s going to be an interesting face-off between the Korean-made Spark and its compatriot, the new Kia Picanto.

The car featured in the ad link above looks very cramped inside. Front and rear legroom seems very "limited".

Getting the entry level Vios 1.3L M/T might be a better choice & better value for money. (P599K)

Or if you want cheaper, the Hyundai i10 or Getz give better value for money (under P600K)

Korek. May blue, maroon and white ata. And another one exactly the same but with Daewoo badge.

This has been released in India last 2009 but it didn't catch on. For me personally, the Hyundai i10 is a better value.

ay.... ang daya naman. kasi 568K ang manual....
although I'm happy with my manual, kung ganun lang ang difference with the automatic, sana pala nag-antay na lang ako.

The auto only has 1.0 litre, yung manual 1.2L. I'd still go for the 1.2 manual. Would be more fun to frive

Test drove the spark! Ayos na din pala ang hatak ng 1.2mt. Pero yung 1.0mt pwede na din kung purely city relax driving lang. just wanna share guys. i'm strongly considering the 1.2mt. Para kahit puno, mukang babatak pa din..

    Heads up guys!

My friend has recently acquired a Chevy Spark 1.0 AT and he's only getting 9KM/L city-driving from Malabon-Makati-Malabon.

Says every trip one full bar (set of 3 or 4 smaller bars) drains up each time, meaning only 4 trips to and from home and office the fuel gauge indicator will already blink.

He'll gonna have his spark checked in casa tom.

Pagkakaalam ko mataas ang consumption ng a/t kaysa manual pero better pa check nya na rin baka may problem don sa bar.

^ But IMHO its not suppose to be that gas guzzler
my 2.5 D4D turbo charged commuter averages 9KM/L pure city and up to 11KM/L hiway
I know it's not apples-to-apples comparison but just take a look at it diba?

dapat nag cruze na lang sya
