AFAIK the Miata has a 1.8L engine powerful enough for its small body. Mas malakas pa sa Tiggo

A better comparison is a pre-owned Toyota Rav4 against the copycat Chery Tiggo.

The pre-owned Rav4 is cheaper by 100-200K (depending on the age). Has a proper 2.0L engine, a 4-star NCAP frontal crash rating, a 4WD drivetrain, 2 airbags, ABS, and 4-disc brakes.

Guys, dont worry, walang ABS nor airbags ang Chery QQ KAHIT ANONG variant. Mali ang nasa brochure cause fully equipped variant ang featured dun.

I think the 107Hp 1.6L a bit less than adequate but still not underpowered. The Vitara although 195kgs lighter is using a less powerful 95Hp 1.6L engine as well and also not underpowered.

sir basty, may airbags at abs po ang lahat ng models ng chery. sa actual unit eh may nakatatak sa driver at pass side na SRS AIRBAG so meron sya. it is just that before it pops, the dash wont hold it. hehehe..

Body structure is still way more important the secondary safety features like airbags. And on that note Cherry is not a winner

sir basty, may airbags at abs po ang lahat ng models ng chery. sa actual unit eh may nakatatak sa driver at pass side na SRS AIRBAG so meron sya. it is just that before it pops, the dash wont hold it. hehehe..

i also saw an actual unit sa Chery Libis and has no ABS nor Airbags. I even confirmed it with the SA. I dont think different dealers has different content of what it is selling...

i read an article of topgear by mr aris ilagan and he said that all models of the said brand has abs and srs as a standard.
the exact words are:
"All their cars, including the entry-level QQ3 are equipped with ABS and dual Airbags..."
do you mean the "QQ"? he only mentiones "QQ3" in his statement but he said ALL THEIR CARS. maybe ur refering to the base model of the QQ. but there is an other variant that is included with ABS and dual SRS.

and sir tidus is right. build quality is more important than airbags or anything. yung sportage nga nag score ng 5 star rate sa crash test nya kashit walang airbag. (ewan ko lang kung yung test unit ay pareho d2 satin na walang airbag. pero the 5-star rating makes a very big sense)

That report is wrong then. Even motioncars listed to it having ABS and Airbags. It has none. On cars displayed on Chery Libis, no label was present on their cars, I was actually waiting to find one, when I wasnt able, I asked the SA "di ba may airbags tong QQ? bakit walang nakalagay sa dash?" the SA answered me "wala pong airbags yan..." i said "ah ganun? bakit nakalagay sa internet?" SA: "wala po talaga." me: "eh ABS? SA: "wala rin..." sabay tawa.

Look at the Cowin's brochure or even the A5 and you'll find Dual Airbags, ABS, leather trim, Auto Climate Control and even Sunroof. But look at the cars on display and you wont find even those items that are easily seen like sunroof, leather or auto climate control.

I guess a lot in the car press over hyped the info they heard about Cherys that are outside our market. kase nga naman sa iba, they have ABS, Airbags, CD stereo even sunroof on some markets. na exag na lang siguro.

pambihira naman tong chery.. nagbibigay sila ng mga brochure na mali ang info. its the brochure from other countries. like they're giving on brochure to all countries kahit hindi siya ang specs ng mga models na available sa countryng yun. 1st time i saw all chery models' brochure, i was so amazed that for only 500k, the 15 has this sunroof and other features. pero pag tingin ko sa actual unit, eh wala pala.

Small things like that is enough for us to be dubious about this company and their cars. Mukang they are here to sell and sell only and not to sell and provide customer satisfaction at the same time....
