Programmers are the one assembling the system. They are the one who puts the login/security module first before the transaction module. So they can launch the transaction module without needing the security module. They can add device to the account bypassing the OTP.

I hope HSBC won't do a Citibank (nawala na regular savings account at puro HNW na lang) but they seem to be going in that direction. Napaka hassle naman yan kailangan mag deposit monthly. Parang ayaw na nila ng new depositors

    BSP wont issue a statement

It would cause too much chaos if they did

They would rather keep it quiet and take the small loss of repaying everyone

NBI said that there was a security issue sa BDO.

At the end of the video: they're stating BDO is safe.

    What a joke.

I wonder if the Log4Shell zero-day was used here. That was a crazy vulnerability that allowed arbitrary remote code download and execution through the logging system just using a malformed user agent (no need to inject SQL or even find a vulnerability in the public facing apps).

if this is true they've decrypted the downloaded data already. account info including the phone numbers are compromised. fukctastic!

A password change will help but as that lingad has mentioned.. getting another simcard(non public) will be good. Thankfully meron junk phones

BDO Unibank has revised its terms and conditions so it won’t be liable for losses due to online hacking incidents in the wake of the “Mark Nagoyo” scam that victimized around 700 clients.

I wonder if connected fraudelent transaction sa BDO account ng girlfriend ko sa security breach ng BDO since Dec. 10 yung fraud sa account niya. BDO account ng GF ko nabawasan ng 15k. New account to (3 months) since kakalipat lang niya ng employer. Wala pa siya online account kay BDO so ATM lang transactions niya and that was just twice (temp PIN change and cash withdrawal). Yung fraudelent transaction was not on the same day as with mentioned ATM transactions. GF already filed a formal complaint sa BDO and was told it will be investigated.

To name a few dok, pag nagpadala ka ng remittance it will take longer than other banks to clear esoecially if the peso is depreciating. Then they will advise you to open a foreign currency account, pag withdraw mo naman yung fca mo they will give tou the lowest exchange rate. Pag dollar gusto mong withdrawin kailan mag advice kasa branch otherwise you will wait like eternity.
Ang pinaka balasubas, same mall sa cebu dalawa branch bdo, withdraw/deposit ka sa ibang branch in the same mall may charge, dahil walang nagreklamo, other banjs now followed bdos practices.

YMMV with different branches of each bank.

Kahit anong banko pa yan, meron talagang branches na mahirap kausap.

Usually mga mall based branches mas mahirap kausap. First, may captured clientele na sila. Then usually mas mahaba pila, so mas busy mga and stressed mga bank staffs. Then, most of the time, naaachieve nila ang quota nila, so no need na magpakabait para makakuha ng extra deposits. Mas ayaw nila ng sobrang laki ng increase in their deposits, kasi mas tataas ang next quota nila.

Lahat ng banks ganyan. If you want good service, hanap ka mga branches na kulelat.

That's the perfect word to describe SM and BDO - balasubas. Add mo pa madugas (pati sukli na cents dinudugas) Bawat galaw may charge. They are NOT good employers as well. Kaya marami sa friends and family ko avoid SM and BDO
